Job Description :

- Set standards for the development team in the SDLC framework, setting the IT processes

- Act as a technical guide and coach

- Will fully be responsible for hiring and resource planning and allocation, Ensures an agile and efficient Software Engineering capability is established, maintained and developed in order to meet the performance objectives, as defined by the Head of Software Engineering.

- Responsible for Internal IT processes, building capability of the IT team by foreseeing changes in technology and especially in relation to Insurance platforms - ensuring capability readiness.

- Ensure the quality standards for development are developed. Ensuring that the most optimal usage and maintenance of a reusability library. Setting up the development metrics.

- Spearhead recruitment efforts, set standards for recruitment, play the role of technical mentor and coach.

- The role is responsible for ensuring the business demand is met through leadership of software engineering skills, competency and capacity within their teams in order to fulfil the demand created by the project, sales and operations functions.

- Leads internal projects with medium to high complexity and risk, provides feedback on projects, and conducts post- project evaluations.

- Utilizes and assists others in utilizing standard quality improvement methodologies in process improvement approaches.

- Establishes processes which are consistent with overall organization objectives and maintains process documentation.

- Ensures adherence to quality standards during the development and implementation of production applications, identifies areas of strengths and weakness.

- In-depth knowledge of operational processes, industry trends, and customer/partner requirements.

- Solid financial and business acumen.

- Excellent communication skills (i.e. written, verbal, presentation), leadership, and influence skills.

Experience Required :

- Demonstrable experience as a manager of a multi- disciplined development team

- Worked in companies which are CMM or CMMi certified. Hands on experience in Implementing quality process throughout the software development life cycle.

- Experience in the entire SDLC utilizing a formal development process such as Agile/ Waterfall.

Qualifications :

- BE/BTech

- Typically 10 years of related experience in IT/business operations.

- Quality improvement training required and certification a plus.
