Meritus Intelytics - Quantitative Analyst

Roles and responsibilities:

Quantitative Analysts are expected to have an aptitude to learn new statistical and programming techniques, and leverage these skills to solve real business problems. This role is suitable for data geeks who are passionate about statistics, learning/developing algorithms and working in a high performance environment. Quantitative Analysts should be able to:

- Apply statistical modelling, machine learning and/or data mining techniques to large amounts of noisy real-world data, to identify business insights

- Work cross-functionally with other teams to build product suites

- Track down complex data, evaluate different algorithmic approaches, and analyze data to solve problems

Skillset required:

- Strong analytical skills

- Attention to detail

- Good interpersonal skills

Should be an expert in at least one of the following:

- Statistical analysis tools such as R, Stata, Python and MATLAB

- Map Reduce framework (hive/pig other tools for accessing data in Hadoop/HBase cluster systems)

Other areas of expertise that would be an advantage:

- Working knowledge of database tools such as SQL, PL/SQL on Oracle and MS SQL Server

- Working knowledge of visualization platforms such as Tableau, Qlik view etc.

- Programming experience with JAVA, UNIX, Perl would be an added advantage
