Merchandising Head - Retail

The role is responsible to create income projections through business development activities, identify the emerging fashion trends and maximize sales to ensure profitability for the organization and oversee merchandising function to ensure timely and profitable execution of all deliverables creating customer satisfaction

Primary Job Responsibilities

- Based on the nature of the task, work activities have been divided as R,A,C,I (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) Plan and define sales strategy

- Conduct sales forecasting for new collections based on sales reports and customer feedback analysis

- Formulate business plan for the year- season-wise and buyer-wise, defining sales volumes, monetary value and profitability

- Conceptualize marketing strategies to increase sales:

- Assess every aspect of bestsellers (for example, the bestselling price points, colors or styles), and ensure that bestsellers reach their full potential;

- Monitor slow sellers, and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions, as necessary

Manage Business Development

- Identify and develop new buyers/new markets to diversify the portfolio

- Create sales and marketing presentations and publications for critical accounts

- Identify, assess and recommend new product development opportunities to designers based on emerging market trends

- Handle market planning, sales forecasting and merchandising development in international markets

- Work out turnover plans for various exhibitions/events/promotional events

- Formulate tie ups with various MBO's and regularly follow up on the sales figures

Manage Retail Store Operations

- Determines the retail store's merchandising budget and sets sales targets for retail stores along with the management team

- Control stock levels based on forecasts for the season A

- Recommend retail store inventory and pricing strategy based on sales reports and buying trends

Additional Responsibilities

- Conduct quality check of Finished Goods, especially for the Heavies line of business

- Performs any other responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time
