Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as the lead data strategist, identifying and integrating new data-sets that can be leveraged through our consulting and advisory capabilities and work closely with our team to strategize and execute the development of data products
- Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across the domain and industry
- Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs, and collect large structured and unstructured data sets and variables
- Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
- Analyze data for trends and patterns, and Interpret data with a clear objective in mind
- Implement analytical models into the work by collaborating closely with stakeholders.
- Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to operational systems
- Develop methods of electricity load forecasting, model production, statistical calibration and maintenance
- Applying statistical and mathematical modelling skills to develop short- and long-term energy forecasts
- Working closely with energy trading and risk management team and using load forecasting to enable optimal decision-making process for day to day trading activities
- Providing analytical and data management support to energy forecasting activities
- Manipulate and analyze large datasets in the process of building forecasting models
- Coordinating the delivery of forecasting projects with the ability to explain clearly the weather sensitivity of load to the client
Experience and Qualification
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in data science. Experience in energy / power sector preferred.
- Bachelor's Honors degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or related discipline.
- Master's degree in stats, applied math, or related discipline (Preferred)
- Professional Certification (Preferred)
Required Skills
- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, statistical analysis, forecasting methods
- Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience
- Data visualization and communication, data wrangling, machine learning
- Knowledge of a variety of econometric and machine learning techniques, clustering, decision tree, artificial neural networks etc. and their real-world application.
- Strong programming and data management skills, with experience in statistical or mathematical modelling and database development experience with R/Python would be ideal.
- Comfort working in a dynamic consulting environment, research-oriented team with several ongoing concurrent projects
Working conditions / Location
The base location would be Nehru Place, New Delhi. The applicant should be open to travel within and outside country to manage Projects. He/ She should also be willing to relocate (if required) to other locations within country based on project requirements.
