About Medi Assist:

Medi Assist is the largest third-party benefits administrator (TPA) for Health Insurance in India. It processes every 5th health insurance claim in the industry. Every second employee in the country with health insurance is a Medi Assist member. 37 companies out of NIFTY50 are our clients. We work with every single health insurance company in India and process more than 80 lakh claims per year. More than 20,000 cr worth of health insurance premiums are processed by Medi Assist every year. This premium number in itself has doubled over the last 3 and a half years. We have more than 6000 employees on our payroll.

As a TPA, Medi Assist operates at the intersection of insurer, hospital, insurance regulator and consumer and our job is to create value for each of these stakeholders.

2. For hospitals, we are one of the fastest growing credit revenue channels.

3. For the consumers, we ensure best claim experience and lower treatment costs.

4. For the regulator, we ensure that the consumer interest is protected at all times.

Our inorganic growth has been fueled by acquisition of 4 peers, 3 in India and 1 in UK, in the last 3 years. We made our largest acquisition this year (Paramount TPA), which is pending regulatory approval.

Medi Assist is the only listed company in the TPA industry.

Responsibilities:

As a Strategy team member, the individual will / have responsibilities across M&A, Corporate Development, IPO and Investor relations. The Individual is expected to:

- Work closely with senior leadership of the organization on all strategic projects

- Track all major trends in the industry, competition in India and globally and support in creating strategies for expansion, investment and capital allocation

- Support in sourcing, evaluating M&A opportunities (mature companies, start-ups etc.) in core business driving consolidation and market expansion opportunities in India & overseas

- Ability to analyse businesses, financials, create business plans, valuation and return on capital models etc.

- Prepare detailed presentations for board, management and track performance on strategic projects

- Provide deal execution support across due diligence, negotiation of transaction documents etc.

- Support IPO related work across preparation of information for DRHP, trading & operating comparables, coordination with investment bankers, lawyers and be part of internal IPO team

- Responsibility for supporting preparation of collaterals for public market, stock exchanges including investor presentations, press release, company fact sheet, financial model and ensure accuracy and high quality of output

- Interact with buy-side & sell-side analysts, institutional sales/ equities, fund managers and participate in investor conferences, road shows along with CEO, Head of Strategy

Qualifications:

- CA, MBA (Finance), PG - Strategy or Communication or Marketing from reputed institute

- Minimum 3-5yrs experience in Investment banks, Consulting, Start-up, Venture Cap / Private equity, Big 4 (Transaction advisory, diligence etc.)

Skills:

- Proficient in understanding / analysing business strategies, financial statements and valuation modelling

- Strong communication & presentation skills, articulate in language and interaction with promoters, bankers, board of directors etc.

- Any transaction experience across M&A, fund raising, capital markets will be an added advantage

- Research oriented and organised with passion to excel

- Network across financial services, healthcare, insurance, technology, capital markets will be an added advantage

- Analytical (eye for detail) and entrepreneurial, self-starter and motivated, works well as a team player
