Job brief
We are looking for qualified shipyard QA/QC managers to work in a global shipbuilding company, Korea.
1. Responsibilities
- Must be able to perform the essential of the position.
- Final commissioning activities in preparation for sail away.
- Supervising a crew of local technicians with all FMS activities ensuring all FMS & safety procedures are always adhered to.
- Punch list process piping systems before handing over for N2/ He Leak Testing operations.
- Leak repairs after N2/ He Leak Testing is carried out.
- Preparation and Re-instatement of N2/ He Leak Test packages.
- Pump & Rotation equipment piping connection final alignments.
- Lining up N2/ He Test packages according to marked up P&Id.
- Rigging up systems and taping up joints ready for test.
- Probing joints using a Mass spectrometer.
2. Requirements (Education/Training) :
- Bachelor's degree in marine-related engineering or mechanical engineering or civil engineering with over 4 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspection experience or equivalent related trade.
- Certified as a Non-Destructive Test Inspector Level II (includes VT, PT, MT, and UT) to NAVSEA TECHPUB requirements. If not certified, must be able to be certified if assigned these duties.
- Certified as a NACE Level - coating inspector (or the equivalent NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector [NBPI]). If not certified, must be able to take and pass the five-day classroom and hands on training program made available through the company if assigned these duties.
- Knowledge of ship construction and repair procedures including welding, structural, machinery, electrical, piping, ventilation and familiarity with various measuring instruments related to inspections.
3. Employment condition :
- Basic Salary : 2,000~2,400 USD/month (Depends on experiences) + overtime pay
- Employment Period : Until the end of the annual contract project (3 years expected)
Welfare:
- Provided dormitory deposit (monthly rent is borne by workers)
- Airline/visa procedures/transportation costs are borne by workers
- Four major insurances: The same applies to Korean employees.
- Work Schedule : 8hours/day (Mon.-Sat.) + overtime
- Start date of work :From August, 2022, employees will be introduced sequentially and start working.
- Visa : D9 (Visa for those dispatched to supervise shipbuilding and industrial equipment manufacturing)
- Up to 2 years of stay for one grant (extension possible)
- Family not allowed
- Selected Personnel : About 80 people in 2022
