McAfee - Product Manager - Network Security Platform

Key Responsibilities:

- The Product Manager is responsible for the overall product strategy, roadmap and execution for this market leading management solution in the McAfee Network Security portfolio. McAfee Network Security Platform is one of the most widely used network IPS solutions in the world and has been in the Leaders Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant since its inception.

- This role will be primarily responsible for the Network Security Manager - the management solution for McAfee Network Security Platform. The Network Security Manager is a unified common management, configuration and reporting console that is used to manage McAfee's Network IPS, Sandboxing and NBA solutions.

- The Network Security product portfolio includes a diverse set of technologies that span hardware and software, as well as multiple routes-to-market and key strategic partnerships.

- This role is central to all of our network security solutions and the candidate will be expected to interface with a broad set of product teams responsible for these solutions. This role has a significant customer facing component and will serve as a product representative in key accounts.

- In addition, the Product Manager will work closely with other Product Managers in the company to drive the overall execution of the business plan, with success measured based roadmap execution, as well as Engineering, Customer and Field Sales engagement. Some travel is required in order to achieve the objectives of this role.

Experience:

- 10+ years product management experience preferably in networking and network security companies with responsibilities spanning inbound product management

- In depth understanding of networking, network security and prior experience working with network management solutions and consoles.

- Solid understanding of product management processes, know how to create MRDs/PRDs, perform competitive analysis, feature/function prioritization and assessment. Experience in an Agile environment is a plus.

- Must have a thorough understanding of the IT security market in general, and network security in particular.

- Must be a very capable communicator and be comfortable working with a wide variety of corporate executives, sales, marketing, engineering, operations, customers and business partner

- Proven teamwork and people management skills; excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

- Business focus with strong technical background; well-developed analytical skills; excellent project management skills

- Ability to formulate product marketing business plans, competitive analysis and product marketing requirement documents

- A BS or equivalent degree in a technical discipline is highly desirable. An MS in CS/EE and/or MBA preferred.
