Designation - Deputy Manager/ Manager - Investments (Back Office)
Location - Gurgaon
JOB SUMMARY:
This position will oversee the entire investment operations which is a part of the finance and control function. The person needs to be mature and responsible to shoulder the responsibilities and interact with senior management team and the Board. Constantly review the processes for efficiencies and compliance at all times. Self starter who can lead and guide the team developing himself and the people underneath resulting in continuity of operations at all times without any breaks. Forward thinking to be able to design processes, strategies which can bear the increase in volume and complexities in times to come. Bent towards automation required allowing time for sharper analysis and controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investment Operations – Accurate and timely release of NAVs
- Regulatory Compliance – Understanding of IRDA regulations, IFRS, IAS and compliance with the same. Update to management and Board on key changes in regulations
- Industry Liasoning – Liason with industry and resolve common issues, adopt best practices, represent Max Life
- Reporting – Preparation of Schedules, IRDA reporting, Shareholder reporting and Management reporting etc. Enhance automation reducing manual work and sharpen analysis
- Controllership – Review financial health, book keeping, etc. Design policies around non performance, impairment, etc
- Audit relationships – Empanel best in class concurrent auditors. Regular review as per ICAI technical guides
- Board Committees – Preparation of IC meeting agenda, data for the deck, other items to be taken up, review of Standard Operating Procedures, Investment Policy, Minutes of the meeting, place items for consideration of Audit Committee and the Board
- System maintenance – Maintenance of all systems for investment operations and reporting
- Understanding of business – Bearing of finance and accounting in stages of a life insurance policy
- Project Management Skills – Be able to drive agenda with cross functional impact and contributions
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- Chartered Accountant/MBA (Regular) from premier institutes
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience post qualification.
- Insurance / NAV operations experience preferred especially in investment mid office / back office
- Concurrent audit experience of investment function in insurance or mutual funds
