Mavenark Advisors is an emerging debt and equity focused Investment Bank. Its Asset Management arm, Mavenark Asset Managers is soon launching its maiden Performing Credit & Private Equity fund.
- The role will work closely with the Investment Banking clients of Mavenark Advisors to analyse and place their private equity requirements as well as be responsible for helping the private equity funds of the AIF managed by Mavenark Asset Managers select companies to invest in and manage the portfolios.
- The role will require conducting detailed analysis of companies' financial performance, industry trends, and potential growth opportunities to determine whether an investment would be profitable. It will also entail a critical role in monitoring the performance of the companies in the portfolio and developing exit strategies to maximize returns.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:
- One of the primary responsibilities involves conducting extensive market research to identify potential investment opportunities. The candidate is required to analyse companies' financial statements, industry trends, and growth potential to determine whether an investment is financially viable.
2. Financial Modelling and Analysis
- Once a potential investment is identified, the private equity analyst is responsible for creating financial models to assess the potential return on investment. This involves analysing a wide range of financial data, including cash flow projections, revenue forecasts, and balance sheets, to determine whether the investment is likely to be profitable.
3. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
- Before making investments, a private equity analyst must conduct thorough due diligence to assess the risks associated with the investment. They are required to analyse market trends, industry regulations, and other factors that could impact the investment's performance, and work to mitigate these risks before making a final decision. 4. Portfolio Management and Monitoring
- Once an investment is made, the candidate is required to monitor the performance of the company and its impact on the overall portfolio. He/she should work closely with the company management to develop strategies to improve performance and ensure the investment remains profitable.
5. Exit Strategies and Execution
- The candidate must also develop exit strategies that enable the company to be sold for a profit. This might involve gradually selling off shares of the company to the public or finding a buyer for the entire company through an acquisition.
- They are responsible for executing the exit strategy in a way that maximizes returns to the private equity firm and its investors.
Experience
1. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in public/private equity analysis preferably in the BFSI sector.
2. CA/CFA/MBA from a reputed institute.
