Job Title
Solution Architect - Microservices, Spring Boot, Agile with Payments / Cards domain Experience
Job Overview:
- Solution Architect for the business functionality of Mastercard's distributed payments network. Responsible for working with business stakeholders and engineering teams to define the solution architecture for each business initiative. Must maintain the balance between rapid delivery of solutions to meet market and customer needs within the current environment, and alignment and progress towards the strategic technology vision.
- Develop the technology strategy and roadmap for the business functionality of payments switching on Mastercard's distributed payments network. Provide analysis of the current state technology solutions. Provide thought leadership and drive cross functional collaboration to design the future state. Assess technologies and approach, develop solution concepts, proposals, and designs, and recommend direction. Work closely with infrastructure strategy teams and business partners. Provide leadership and drive initiatives with vendors, consultants, and colleagues. Coordinate with project teams to ensure near term initiatives are in line with the strategy.
Role
- Create the solution architecture for each assigned initiative
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and timelines, while aligning with the technology roadmap
- Determine architectural requirements for the future state overall microservice architecture for payments switching business functionality, and specific microservice components, in line with technology strategy
- Provide technical leadership to architecture, infrastructure and software engineering colleagues to define the required microservices and research, select, integrate, and develop technologies to be incorporated into the switching microservices to support the necessary business and technical functions
- Create and manage the technology strategy and roadmap for assigned switching business functionality in alignment with product and enterprise technology roadmaps
- Create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.
All About You
- IT experience including requirements gathering and relationship building with business clients
- Experience in leading business system application and architecture design, and in influencing technology direction in range of IT areas
- Able to lead project and working teams, collaborate with business partners, vendor/ consulting organizations and peer level professionals from other IT disciplines
- Experience in architecting and delivering high performance and highly secure distributed network applications
- Experience with high volume secure mission critical microservice based solutions, including architecture, design, development and operational phases
- Experience with virtualization, cloud technologies, software defined infrastructure, open source frameworks and security
- Experience and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies, SAFe Agile a strong plus
- Demonstrate MC Core Competencies
- Broad technical experience across different hardware platforms, operating systems, programming languages, application architectures and associated development and operations tools -- with emphasis of recent experience on cloud based microservices
- Domain experience in financial services, especially payments, a strong plus

- Strong communication skills both verbal and written and strong relationship, collaboration skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and assess new technologies, frameworks and tools and support multiple concurrent activities and to interface with external/internal resources, working as a member of a matrix based diverse and geographically distributed team
