Managing Consultant (Core Consulting from Financial Institutions with Analytics & Insights)

MasterCard Advisors, the professional services arm of MasterCard Worldwide, provides consulting services (including business strategy, proposition & operating model design, performance optimization, marketing, information and risk management) to financial institutions, merchants and governments worldwide.

With its unique payments expertise, deep understanding of customer needs and successful track record in addressing complex challenges throughout the payments lifecycle, MasterCard Advisors has established a strong track record of successfully addressing the challenges and opportunities of its clients.

Drawing from the success of its consulting services, Mastercard Advisors is establishing teams in multiple global centers to provide high quality and scalable consulting for international clients across verticals in an efficient, consistent & profitable manner. Working with colleagues and clients locally and in-market, this team will systematically leverage our extensive experience to create and deliver powerful consulting-lead solutions & standard methodologies which generate high client impact and improved profitability.

Role

The Managing Consultant (MC) will be part of the global team formulating, implementing and managing a new consulting delivery model for Mastercard Advisors:

 Project Management & Delivery

- Responsible for developing top quality work in the centralized configured consulting team

- Develop relevant and value-creating analysis and insight for our clients; ensure work is synthesized into clear, sound recommendations with high standard document outputs

 Team Management

- Lead small teams of local consultants and analysts undertaking project work - plan, organize and structure delivery to manage time and effort effectively within project budget/ profitability expectations

 Configurable Solution Development & Knowledge Management

- Help develop a scalable consulting business model by developing standardised methodologies, solution packages and deploying established project templates to ensure consistent, high quality deliverables

- Support development of competency centres on core Advisors configurable offerings within central team and help deploy these with clients and colleagues globally

- Proactively seek new knowledge and skills and facilitate the development of intellectual capital

- Monitor configured offering processes and deliverables to identify creative and useful additional and/or alternative analyses and paradigms to improve project quality and economics

- Stakeholder Management

a) Develop effective working relationships with mid to senior level colleagues

- Support MasterCard Advisors and local market account teams in identifying opportunities where standardized solutions can be utilized and assist in business development

All About You

We are looking for dynamic, self-starter and highly motivated individuals who would like to work in an intellectually & professionally challenging environment and can contribute to building up a new practice.

- Extensive experience in a consulting organization, ideally with exposure to strategy consulting or internal corporate strategy roles in FS/ banking/ payments industry

- Tenured Associate/ Consultant or equivalent from Tier 1 strategy consulting firms or Manager with the Strategy practice of Tier-2 consulting firms/ Big 4s or equivalent in Corporate Strategy team of a leading FI

- MBA or relevant post graduate degree from Tier-1 college with strong academic record

- Proven record of leading teams on engagements, managing clients with solid functional knowledge of strategy, project management, knowledge management etc.

- Exceptional analytical, quantitative problem solving skills leading to insights with proficiency in storyboarding, using consulting frameworks

- Comfortable with high performance culture; with ability to multi-task & collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (both verbal & written) - English proficiency required; other languages desirable

- Advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
