Group Description
- MasterCard Advisors provides payments Consulting Services, Managed Services and Information Services to financial institutions, merchants and other industry verticals worldwide.
- Advanced Analytics is charged with servicing Consulting Services, Information Services and Managed Services by centralizing and optimizing the world class analytical, modeling, software coding, data sourcing, product development, product management, econometrics, and associated delivery capabilities of the MasterCard Advisors organization.
General Purpose
- Support all business areas of Advisors with critical data analysis that helps clients make profitable decisions. An Analyst utilize tools like decision trees, clustering, regression, econometrics and time series, structural equation modeling, linear programming and algorithms, SAS, SQL, VBA and OLAP.
- Use knowledge of the application of big data quantitative analytics to provide hands-on support for merchant analytics product development and custom analytical project delivery that satisfies and retains a global client base. The - Analyst" will scope, manage and deliver actionable insights that drive sales and customer loyalty by analyzing behavioral or attitudinal data by understanding performance of retailers, categories or brands.
- Demonstrate innovative thinking to deliver custom analytics projects as part of a global project team.
Education -
Experience/ Knowledge
- Bachelors in quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research). M.S or MBA preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in hands-on data mining, analysis and modeling, report development using large volumes of granular data to deliver analytics solutions for merchants
- Ability to easily move between business, analytical, and technical teams and articulate solution requirements for each group
- Experience with quality control and data validation
- Relevant retail and payments industry experience in analyzing SKU
- Conduct in market basket analysis for customer behavior, Market Share and Benchmarking
- Generate customer Loyalty matrices and dashboards with key insights on brands, products and services
- Proven experience in using analysis to understand the behaviors, motivations and needs of customers in a retail environment and the use of this insight to create new strategies to grow long-term customer value
- Ability to understand complex operational systems and business intelligence tools for the developing information products and analytical offerings to a large, global client base
- Knowledge and application of statistical methods
- Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex insights that focus on the critical issues and provide actionable opportunities.
Competencies
- Strong SAS, SQL, MS-Excel-VBA and PowerPoint skills.
- Platforms/Environments: Unix, Netezza, Microsoft BI Stack
- Experience working in Hadoop environments a plus
- Excellent English, quantitative, technical, and communication (oral/written) skills

Major Responsibilities
Project Delivery and Solution Design
- Hands-on analysis of the retailer database using the full suite of Advisors analytical tools (SAS, SQL, R, Excel, and specific internal tools) to create timely, relevant and actionable insights.
- Effectively manage projects, tasks and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time.
- QA of own code and that of team members to ensure the highest quality of end-products
- Identify opportunities for standardization & automation of existing solutions and processes to enable Advisors to realize the maximum potential from our teams.
- Challenge and improve analytical capability through development of tools or processes that offer optimization opportunities
- Work closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure sound knowledge of client objectives and customer insight, to subsequently deliver best-in-class solutions.
- Establish and maintain clear communication between various business partners and clients regarding project scope, timelines and deliverables
- Ensure all projects are fully documented (objective, requirements, analysis plan, technical design, results, support, training, etc.).
- Work directly with one of the world's largest data warehouses to deliver optimized data extracts, data visualizations, and detailed reports to support consulting engagements, campaign measurement, business intelligence, predictive modeling, and scoring applications.
- Support global Advisors solution delivery in North America, Europe, APMEA, Latin America
- Comply with all MasterCard internal policies and external regulations
- Work with Advanced Analytics colleagues worldwide including project status reporting
- Strong team player in a high performance workplace
- Require to travel to client offices across the globe to deliver projects
