Mashreq - Head/Vice President - Enterprise Architecture

Job Purpose:

- Head - Enterprise Architecture is responsible to setup the vision for the future state technology supporting business growth capabilities.

- It includes defining Digital architecture framework that supports the most efficient and secure technology environment meeting both technology and business needs.

- The role demands defining, implementing and ensuring compliance to laid out digital architecture principles of Open banking API, Microservices, Cloud Native enablement, etc..)

- This job also recommends most optimized architecture for all new and existing applications to maximize stable performance at right cost.

Key Result Areas :

- Defines the future state technology stack supporting modern components that enable rapid application deployment

- Defines a vision that traverses the technology stack from User-Experience / Customer-Experience, data-driven strategic analysis and customer insights, cloud provisioning and embedding digitally enabled scalable architecture

- Assesses and evaluates emerging technology capabilities (like DevOps, Open Banking, API and Microservices, IoT, Robotics, VR/AR, Block Chain) for compatibility, scalability, and viability

- Develops technology architecture, governance and standards across functions at intersection of disrupting data and technology to drive business results

- Manage PROBe Architecture Forum for discussing LHP projects for adherence to architecture standards and guidelines

- Adoption of API and Microservices , Drive External API , Internal API , API Connect and Microservices Adoption PAN Bank

- Ensure Hollow the Core approach is followed as key Architecture principle and ensure business logic is implemented in extensibility Layer

- Platform Modernization thru periodic upgrades

- Open Source Architecture and Standards

- Security Architecture and Standards

- Ensure Security Vulnerabilities are fixed and completed across all projects

- Defines a practical, implementable and actionable architectural vision and framework, tailored to business partner requirements

- Ensures that non-functional requirements have been included and are implemented as part of solution architecture

- Provides ongoing guidance and governance throughout the implementation and ongoing operation of the platform the architecture is supporting

- Defines and develops further the architectural standards (at abstract enterprise level) and SLAs

- Creates conceptual architecture documentation based on companys digital strategy

- Define and implement key strategic technology platforms and solutions for the future growth and success of the business

- Create and evolve technology radar with goal of tracking emerging technology trends and evangelizing potential areas to infuse into our continuous innovation pipeline

- API Development and micros-services architectures and solutions

- DevOps processes and tools including continuous integration and deployment

- Integration / API Architecture: JSON, REST, SOAP, XML, AWS Lambda, AWS API Manager, Open API specification

- Accountable for the appropriateness of technology architecture solutions delivered to the technology teams of the bank

- Develop and present to Technology management on Innovations and influence decision making

- Provide a consensus based enterprise architecture roadmap that is scalable, adaptable and fit for Mashreq architecture landscape

- Provide recommendations to the projects and applications on technical architecture and any deviations to be highlight

- To link business requirements and technology strategy, architecture future models to be developed in an efficient, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner

- Provide application consolidation approach based on strategy, architecture and business requirements

- Share best practices, lessons learned and constantly update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and up-coming vendor products and solutions.

Key Skills:

- Enterprise Architecture certification TOGAF is preferred

- Ability to challenge the Technology solutions provided by various Vendors and in-house teams to propose an optimal solution

- Ability to identify the hotspots in the current application landscape and provide solutions to rectify

- Provide a clear Architecture road map to the senior management to transform obsolete technology to a robust platform

- Optimize the Technology assets by consolidation of existing applications and remove redundancies and cost saves

- Provide appropriate inputs to the senior management for critical decisions for strategic investment in Technology

- Advice the senior management in latest technology trends in banking like mobility, big data etc and generate use case for the implementation

- Take initiatives in implementing source control and release management process

- Guide all the technology teams in stability of applications and platforms by providing critical inputs on various aspects like performance testing , performance tuning etc

- Experience defining functional and non-functional application requirements

- Knowledge of architecting micro-services applications. Experience preferred.

- Knowledge of server-less architecture and developing applications in this fashion. Experience preferred.

- Experience working with online commerce and omni-channel retail business practices

- Experience working with an Agile DEVOPS development methodology using continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes

- Domain Knowledge in Financial Services

- Functional and technology knowledge on major banking applications

- Post Graduate in Management or Equivalent
