- The Market Research & Business Development role in the chemicals sector involves the identification, assessment, and development of new business opportunities, with a strong focus on market intelligence and strategic partnerships.
- This position plays a crucial role in driving the company's growth and ensuring its competitive edge in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture relationships with external stakeholders to explore new business verticals, domains, and platforms that provide a competitive advantage.
- Provide insights into market trends, ongoing deals, and emerging applications.
- Represent the company at conferences and exhibitions, both domestically and internationally, to scout for new ideas and establish business contacts.
- Assist the Director (Business Development) in annual business planning and market off-take agreements.
- Organize plant visits for potential technology providers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Create marketing teasers and brochures highlighting the unique features of the plant, product, company, and group.
- Engage in discussions on various project aspects, including contract negotiations, technology licensor agreements, market strategies, and untapped value chains.
- Conduct comprehensive competitor analysis and market intelligence, including tracking local and international price trends of key products.
- Collaborate with R&D to understand market needs, oversee sample generation, and liaise with potential customers for product approvals and new business development.
- Monitor new Environmental Clearances (EC) granted by MOEF and state authorities to understand competitive dynamics and their business impact.
- Prepare trend analysis, market intelligence reports, MIS, and assess departmental budgets against actual expenses.
- Investigate avenues for qualifying the business under "Green Chemistry," including certifications relevant to USA, EU, APAC markets, and sectors such as F&F and the food industry.
- Assist in generating periodic project progress reports, highlighting areas of concern for effective tracking.
- Participate in online project reviews and coordinate with the Accounts & Finance team for matters like Bank Guarantees.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in market research and business development within the chemicals sector.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of market dynamics, trends, and competitor activities in the chemicals industry.
- Techno-Commercial Expertise: Ability to assess business ideas from both technical and commercial perspectives.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to prepare detailed market intelligence reports.
- Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Networking: Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships within the industry.
- Project Management: Experience in coordinating and managing project-related activities
