Position (Designation) : Buying Manager
Dept/Division : Procurement/ Operations
Grade : Manager
Location : Coimbatore
Key Deliverables of the Role :
- Price Forecasting & Market intelligence
- Tracking Supply Demand factors & prices for coconuts/copra/CNO and related commodities
- Fundamental and Technical Analysis for these commodities, to interpret insights enabling short and long term price forecasts
- Provide accurate price forecast for copra/CNO on 3 month rolling basis to provide guidance to business
- Market intelligence for enabling the above
- Strategic Category Management
- Preparation of category document for CNO buying capturing supply, demand, SWOT, technology interventions
- Devise and execute robust risk management plans for CNO buying
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Vendor evaluation, enrolment, development and performance management
- Effective communication with external stakeholders (vendors and non vendors) in value chain
- Devise & execute relationship strengthening program management (market visits etc)
- Ensuring compliance to contract terms and compliance
- Addressing vendor grievances and set up mechanism for redressal
- Service Delivery
- Long and short term planning for buying basis prices, availability and sales requirement
- Ensuring timely availability of CNO at Marico plants across the country
- CNO/Copra position building/shedding in co ordination with Manufacturing
- MIS
- Updates to top management on market, inventory costs, buying efficiencies
Cost Management:
- Identifying, implementing and reporting value generating ideas in the function
- Optimizing buying mix basis supply sources and tax implication basis landed cost model
- Compliance
- Develop and deploy policies/ DOA's to strengthen governance and risk in purchase to pay cycle, in
partnership with Commercial function
- Assuring quality of products at different stages in the value chain, in partnership with Quality function
Qualification & Experience :
- MBA from Premier Institute like IIM, NITIE, S P Jain, IIT etc
- Minimum 2 to 4 years prior experience
- Agri Buying understanding desirable
