Role Overview:
The Manufacturing Head oversees the operations of 11 waste management units, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and safety. They develop strategies, optimise processes, and foster a culture of improvement. Additionally, they manage unit heads, plant heads, and production and maintenance teams to achieve profitability, production goals, and quality standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Strategy:
- Lead the Operations team. Formulate Operations strategy in line with the Group's corporate plan. Ensure cascading of operational strategy at the units.
- Responsible to set and ensure achievement of production targets.
- The Manufacturing Head will spearhead initiatives to enhance Group's manufacturing capabilities, reduce operational costs, and provide leadership in manufacturing engineering, process planning, maintenance planning, and quality initiatives.
2. Operations Planning & Review:
- Perform annual business planning and operational budget for operations function
- Develop plans for adherence to strategic direction in cost management, goal setting, employee relations, customer satisfaction and quality systems deployment.
- The Manufacturing Head will develop performance metrics and targets, ensure operations align with strategic plans, review resource allocation, monitor key performance indicators, lead cost reduction and continuous improvement programs, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products at the right cost. Additionally, they will oversee quality improvement efforts and address customer issues promptly.
3. Quality:
- Optimise operations and make sure that all resources and effectively utilised
- Drives process improvement through continual performance monitoring
- Ensure that a Business Continuity Plan is in place
4. Compliance:
- Consistently ensure that the operations of the organisation are in accordance with applicable local, state and government law.
5. MIS & Reporting
- Guide the businesses in the desired direction by providing relevant MIS.
6. People Management:
- Provide continuous leadership, supervision, training and development of department staff ensuring an effective and motivated team.
Experience & Skills:
- Qualifications - B.E/B.Tech with a post-graduation and an MBA preferred.
- Good Knowledge of Software skills like SAP ERP, MES Systems, Advanced Excel, AutoCAD and PLM Software
- 18+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the waste management industry.
- Proven track record of leading and managing manufacturing operations.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and standards
