Manufacturing Engineering Manager - CNC

Role Overview:

As Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will lead the manufacturing engineering teams responsible for the manufacturing areas producing orthopedic implants. Key cross functional relationships will include quality engineering, operations, new product development, facilities and HSE

Experience:

- A minimum of eight years- experience leading manufacturing engineering teams in the medical device industry.

- Minimum of three years- experience within a CNC machining environment.

- Experience with 3 axis or 4 axis or 5 axis.

- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading projects from concept to implementation to include equipment selection, installation and validation, process development and new product introduction.

- Previous experience of product transfers and new site start-up is an advantage

Competences:

- Ability to recruit, train and develop a team of mfg. engineers and CNC programmers

- Extensive experience of Process Validation within the medical device industry

- Experience with Process Maps, FMEA, MSA and/or other risk analysis tools

- Ability to select and purchase manufacturing equipment and automation solutions

- Detailed understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

- Strong written/verbal communication skills

- Ability to influence people without a direct reporting relationship

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft based applications including MS Project.

- Six-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools a plus

Responsibilities:

- Install & validate new production equipment for medical device implants

- Manage related product transfers into Penang facility

- Lead Mfg. Engineering teams responsible for multiple production areas

- Provide technical support for manufacturing teams as process SME

- Drive ongoing quality/process improvements via OEE and increased yields

Location : Penang

Education:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other appropriate engineering or engineering technology discipline.
