Job Purpose and Impact
The Managing Director is a leadership role, responsible for developing country business strategy in alignment with the group strategy. In this role, you will take the lead to achieve the business performance objective by engaging strategic business partners, implementing business commitment, coaching Key business talents, and continuously optimizing commercial and other critical business practices.
This role is also accountable to coordinate and lead all elements related to the Animal Nutrition India business, including functional groups that support the business and who have direct reporting lines to through their functions. The role will lead and be responsible for all commercial metrics, overall business performance, and non-financial metrics such as safety, talent, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
- Over 12 years and above experience of general management in a multi-plant manufacturing environment that includes sales, marketing, plant operations, credit and financial management and competitive positioning
- Experience of working within a matrix/complex organization
- Experienced in the agricultural industry, Animal Nutrition and Health, Human Pharma industry is preferred
- Experienced in successfully managing changing customer economics associated with credit problems and a changing market condition
- Proven ability to leading a high volume of activity involving multiple, often complex projects simultaneously
- Track record of successfully managing change, cultural awareness and sensitivity initiatives
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to support enterprise and group strategy, optimize key account relationships, explore business growth opportunities, develop pricing strategy and ensure business strategy is implemented and meets long term business needs
- The ability to define and execute future goals by analyzing market trends to look for important projects, ventures, potential targets and other partnership opportunities working with key stakeholders in the business
- Responsible for business performance management, in-market balance sheet/profit and loss, business continuous excellence, customer engagement improvement and business process optimization
- Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs for defined markets
- Establish and implement business succession planning, embed personal development and the fulfillment of personal potential in the culture of the organization
- Develop and nurture key account relationships, identifying priorities, issues and strategic challenges and establish process planning to enable critical customer prioritization
- Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting
- You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs
- Continuously raise the bar for our talent, ensure the team is developing and closing gaps towards becoming a world class product delivery/service team
- Inspire and guide a growing team/organization; foster a culture of transparency, accountability, collaboration and innovation
