We have been given the mandate for the recruitment of a Manager- Web Systems for a Tata Group Company for their FMCG Division at their Corporate Office at Bangalore.

JOB TITLE - Manager – Web Systems

DEPARTMENT - Global Information Systems (GIS)

LOCATION - Bangalore

Summary of the role:

Reporting to the Director – Applications and Asia, the Manager, Web Systems will be responsible for design, development, implementation and support of the company’s web-based functions. This includes the internal / external websites, portals and other web applications, being a technology evangelist who can help develop, guide and manage the technology roadmap for the company in Web and mobile technologies. Work with colleagues, customers and vendors to improve business processes using web technologies. This person will be accountable to ensure that all the applications in their portfolio provide the business functionality and perform to the expected levels maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.

The position requires:

- A demonstrated skill in web application programming, graphic creation and web-authoring tools.

- Deep understanding of portals and content management systems and a broad technical and functional knowledge around enterprise web applications including mobile technologies

- Technical knowledge to design of fit to purpose architecture of various web applications and portals

- Good analytical abilities to help troubleshoot problems associated with web / mobile applications

- Familiarity with the current industry-related web languages and software to help develop the right solution for business problems

- Ability to think strategically, execute projects and develop efficient solutions to complex business problems.

- Ability to effectively communicate ideas to all levels of management.

- Excellent written, oral and problem solving skills.

Key Activities:

- Work with Business Users to gather and interpret business requirements

- Analyse and transform requirements into practical solutions

- Prioritise and provide time estimates / schedule for work.

- Develop required documentation using predefined TGB standards.

- Work with other team members and partners to develop, implement and support the solution

- Perform various tests as necessary

- Create and provide content for operational guide.

Knowledge/Experience required to do the role:

- Around 7 to 10 years experience in architecting, designing, developing and implementing web content management systems, internal and external websites and mobile applications

- Experienced in HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, Java, ASP, XML, SQL, and other web technologies

- Ability to analyze problems and develop practical enterprise grade solutions

- Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills

- Excellent communication and documentation skills

- Excellent relationship development, self management, and mentoring abilities

- Ability to work in a matrix team environment

- Execution of all responsibilities with little direct supervision

- Generally aware of new developments in industry and process and ability to apply them to work as appropriate.

Dimensions:

This role is based at our Bangalore office in India and may require travel to other units of the business as necessary

An ideal candidate with BE or MCA with around 32 to 35 years of age and willing to accept challenging opportunities are preferred.
