We at Talisman Advisors are looking for a Manager Valuation for a reputed client of ours. The candidates should be a MBA /CA for 2003/04 batch.

Also please note we would not prefer candidates who have made frequent changes for this position.

Compensation can go upto 22 Lacs plus variable

The Valuations Team consists of people who all have a post-graduate degree in finance with past experience in corporate finance.

The Valuations Team was started in May 2008 in supporting various aspects of a valuation project including multiples, WACC, DCF, company profiles, etc. The Team also helped with secondary research for business valuation engagements. In addition, the Team also works with country practices globally as well, such as UK, France, Germany, Australia, US, Canada, etc. The Team supports valuation engagements from a variety of industries including telecom, hospitality, financial services, entertainment, food and beverages, IT and metals and mining.

The types of valuation you may be involved include:

- Fairness opinions

- Valuation advice in connection with acquisitions and disposals

- Dispute resolution

- Commercial and strategic valuations

- Valuation advice related to accounting requirements (impairment tests and purchase price allocations)

- Bid defence work

- Valuation for tax purposes

Job description:

The main objective is to achieve business growth by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key business decision-makers, informing them of our scope of services and communicating how these services benefit their organizations.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Manage a team of 60-70 people

- Measure, monitor and improve client service by guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery

- Focus teams on the key priorities while managing several medium-size projects

- Ensure smooth service delivery within the defined geographical area

- Ensure that team members deliver quality service as per client’s needs and prioritieszx

- Partner with internal and external clients to improve processes

- Work with project leaders to analyze resource needs and gaps across locations, and devise alternative ways forward

- Assign people to projects based on their skills, career goals and client’s expectations

- Produce assignment budgets and timetables, and manage delivery against them

- Provide team members with accurate and useful guidance in technical areas of high risk and complexity

- Act as a counselor for team members

- Participate in goal setting, performance appraisal and management of counselees

- Identify L&D requirements of counselees

Competencies / skills:

- Have strong knowledge of valuation principles and finance

- Have knowledge of research databases like Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Factset, Factiva, Thomson, etc.

- Have a sound grasp of MS Excel; a natural interest in working and learning to use it to an advanced level

- Have strong interpersonal skills

- Have an eye for detail and be able to work under pressure

- Have excellent written and spoken English skills, and be able to discuss and reason complex technical issues

Job Specification:

Education & Experience:

- MBA/PG Diploma (Fin) with 8-10 years relevant experience of working on DCF & Relative Valuations projects
