Manager - Underwriting - Fintech Startup

The founders have over 15-20 years of experience in different financial institutions such as Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank and Deutsche Bank. They are experts in the field of consumer lending, insurance, credit, collections, credit strategy and policy, credit analytics etc.

The group consists of a Finance Company (an NBFC) and Services Company (an advisory company). The Services Company is the pioneer in introducing credit advisory services in India. They also provides customers with a wide range of analytical assessments, helping them have in-depth understanding of their credit status.

As the Manager - Underwriting, you will be handling a team and be responsiblefor preparing underwriting documents for management review on accounts with risk exceeding the standard thresholds.

What you will do:

- Conducting risk analysis, scrutinizing relevant documents before sanctioning loans within defined TAT

- Responsible to have client interview and ensuring compliance as per bank's credit policies

- Supervising and controlling delinquency and credit loss

- Fulfilling the credit training needs of entire business team on a continued & timely basis

- Responsible for Portfolio management, Audit control, delinquency check, structuring of deals and meeting existing clients

- Document credit analysis and rationale for credit decisions

- Formulating credit policy

- Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the identification, classification, mitigation and analysis of risk

- Assisting the Risk Management Group in research and analysis on industries/clients/markets

Candidate Profile:

- At least 4-5 years of relevant Underwriting experience

- Should have knowledge of Indian Loan Market

- Team handling experience is highly preferred

- Analytical bent of mind & strong judgmental attributes

- Excellent Communication and good presentation skills
