Manager transportation operation will function to maximize the customer service across supply chain, optimize distribution cost and ensure statutory & regulatory compliance in transportation. This role drives changes in supply chain,leads engagements with internal and external stakeholders, manages performance of external service providers and develop talents.
1. Transportation Operation:
- Support RDC/Plant team for timely truck placements as per the agreed SLA.
- Drive for spot vehicle placement based on the enlisted transporters for improving service level
- Monitor stock in transit and timely reporting at destinations ; drive transit compliance.
- Drive truck utilization process based on right fit modelling.
- Ensure SOB compliance as per the direction from FMT.
- Track truck detentions at locations.
- In-transit damage evaluation and necessary action for controlling the same.
- Monthly Transporter performance evaluation, Scorecards and monthly reviews with transporters for performance improvement.
- New transporters on boarding process, vendor creation, contract documentation etc.
- Drive reverse logistics and movements of stocks from Depot to RDC Or, Depot to Depots, etc.
2. Systems & Processes:
- Drive for Digital / automation system across locations.
- Drive various recovery processes such as
- Insurance Premium collection.
- Transit Delay.
- Market truck / spot placement.
- Damage, Shortage, Inter-changes.
- Others (accident, theft, hijack, overloading etc)
- Coordinate with finance for any payment related query.
- Driving Nil Balance confirmation from Transporters.
3. Transportation Budgeting/Costing:
- Analyze for best fit truck model.
- Annual budget planning for freight cost.
- Monthly Cost & Service review for Primary & Secondary Transportation.
- Drive cost control measures & Cost Saving Initiatives (CSI).
4. Customer support management:
- Drive to reduce TLT for customer orders through periodic reviews of performance.
- Drive supply network optimization to balance cost Vs service.
- Ensure all customer complaints are closed as per TAT.
- Handling all internal external customer escalations and provide solutions.
- Liaise with ZLM / RLM / Division on various field related issues and solutions.
5. Driving various Digitalization and Automation Projects in transportation related process.

- Experience in handling large volume and complexity.
- Exposure to latest technologies in logistics.
