PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- The Manager of IT Governance is responsible for overseeing the strategic alignment of IT with the business objectives, ensuring that IT processes and systems are effectively managed and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- This role involves the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT governance frameworks and practices ensuring that IT investments deliver maximum value.
- This role will ensure that risk management is well managed and enshrined within the Information Technology department also manage the Business Continuity program for Information Technology, ensuring that IT services are available to the business and customers in the event of any unforeseen disruption, within the agreed service levels (RPO and RTO).
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The key responsibilities for this role are:
IT Governance:
- Develop and maintain the IT governance framework, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor IT governance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Promote IT governance best practices across the organization.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage IT risks to minimize potential impacts on the organization.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with IT governance standards.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure IT processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
- Coordinate internal and external audits of IT systems and processes.
- Develop and implement action plans to address audit findings and recommendations.
Performance Monitoring:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of IT governance.
- Monitor and report on IT governance performance metrics to senior management.
- Continuously improve IT governance practices based on performance data and feedback.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and senior management to ensure IT governance aligns with organizational objectives.
- Provide training and support to staff on IT governance policies and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between IT and other departments to address governance-related issues and concerns.
Portfolio Management:
- Prioritizes IT projects and initiatives based on business value and alignment with strategic goals.
- Manages IT portfolios, including resource allocation and performance metrics.
IT Budgeting (Defining Budgets):
- Establish and share guidelines for budget preparation with business; Generate group IT budget by consolidating budgets from each business and budgeting for Group-level initiatives; Consult CIO and seek approval to finalize the budget
