Key Purpose of the Job : This position shall be responsible for handling matters mainly pertaining to GST like tax planning, ensuring timely and accurate filing of returns, covering all manufacturing states. The roles is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance of tax related documentation and supporting the Sr. Manager - Taxation in any liaising with the advocates, auditors, statutory bodies and government agencies for indirect tax matters. This position is also responsible for H.O.- GST &amp; Direct Tax compliances. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS : - Timely and accurate filing GST returns - Timely remittances of liabilities - Ensure all documentation related to indirect taxation are maintained as per existing laws - Ensure all statutory compliances are complied - Adherence to Audit schedule and Compliance KEY ACTIVITIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES : Planning and Coordination : - Effectively co-ordination with the accounts department for the timely passing necessary entries. - Advise the seniors on updates and changes on indirect taxation laws - Identify potential opportunities to take advantage of tax exemptions and benefits available - Responsible for reconciliation of output liability with GSTR-1/ books of accounts; ITC with GSTR 2A/2B and with trial balance. - Reco. of ITC availed on the basis of ISD invoice. - Handling Job work operations which involves, reco. of inputs sent &amp; processed goods received and filing of returns etc. Taxation and Filing of returns : - Effectively manage routine Indirect tax matters like payments of duties, taxes, filing statutory, routine correspondence with tax department (GST) - Ensure that all documents pertaining to taxation are filed in a secure manner and are easily retrievable Audits &amp; Compliance : - Assist in Department Audit during the annual audit and present all books of accounts and other records as and when required by the Audit team. - Evaluate requests for information from government officials and participate in developing strategies to successfully defend tax filing positions and propose favourable resolutions of tax deficiencies - Coordinate and conduct internal audits in consultation with various departments/ locations in consultation with the Sr.Manager- Indirect Taxation - Respond to the queries raised by statutory departments related to taxation or any other cess in an appropriate and timely manner. Litigation Support : - Provide support and required information related to GST and erstwhile Central Excise, Service Tax and VAT to the senior team. - Seek support from Sr. Manager -Indirect Tax and legal consultants or advocates on matters pertaining to litigations - Provide for necessary information and handle litigation including drafting of replies/ appeals and attending with guidance of the Sr. Manager - Indirect Tax Relationship Management : - Liaise with internal and external auditors; statutory bodies, government agencies and other agencies to ensure that taxation matters are handled smoothly - Work closely with the Commercial/ Accounts and other related functions for resolving day to day issues with respect to bills, bookings, GST/ Customs related issues. - Handle periodical assessments of all states with the help of local consultant, Duty payments, scrutiny and appearance with Government authorities wherever required MIS, Documentation and Reporting : - Set up effective documentation system for maintaining the effective working papers relating to GST - Ensure that all documents pertaining to taxation are filed in a secure manner and are easily retrievable - Provide all necessary documentation and information support in connection with GST &amp; Customs to both external and internal audit teams. - Generate and circulate quality MIS as per requirements for supporting the Business decisions and compliance adherence - Ensure timely and accurate updation of SAP with regards to all matters pertaining to indirect taxation Education&nbsp;: CA 1st attempt only Industry&nbsp;: Manufacturing Location&nbsp;: Mumbai Diversity profiles will be given preferences
