Strategic Growth Initiatives Counsel Manager - Leading MNC


JOB DESCRIPTION:

- As a member of the Government Relations and Policy Advocacy Department , you will play a pivotal role in shaping policy and legislative strategies that impact operations and reputation. Your primary focus will be on the finance sector, where you will-

- Proactively develop intelligent insights around legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact . Advising leadership on it and helping to manage reputation risks. Have a critical sense of institutional engagements including geopolitical understanding beyond routine expectations.

- Establish credible relationships for a trusted partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, elected representatives, industry trade associations and industry government relations representatives.

- Create opportunity for external engagement for thoughtful conversation including scheduling meetings; supporting the development of briefing packs; talking points for meetings and events; and supporting participation in conferences/events.

- Support the business development and ACN positions and strategies regarding key business topics and policy issues, developing a thought leadership strategy towards political stakeholders . Support the business to build strategic relationships that align to market positions.

Therefore, your skill set:

- An individual player who can work independently - while being sensitive to the team's vision, philosophy and direction

- An excellent understanding of technology essentially digital platforms and its transformational aspects for overall economic value chain hence creating an ecosystem conducive for technology integration.

- You are someone who has relevant work experience in identifying key public policy issues preferably in the finance domain, including senior policy-making role with experience in hands-on policy design and the process of getting policies approved and implemented through complex executive and legislative processes and political systems. In this regard following attributes are essential yet not exhaustive:

- Experience in engaging directly senior government officials (ministerial level) specifically departments of Ministry of Finance (including all its divisions/departments), Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

- Good exposure, deep understanding and reliable connects with autonomous institutions-NCLAT, RBI, SEBI, ED, GST, Competition Commission of India, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, Indian Institute of Finance, Indian Institute of Chartered Accountant, Niti Ayog ,

- Understanding and exposure to Parliamentary Standing Committee on finance and Economic Affairs. Office of Chief Economic Advisor, Financial Budget, Economic Survey.

- Good knowledge of Govt Flagship Scheme-Digital India, My Gov, federal structure of taxes, Free Trade Agreement, WTO, Indo-US bilateral Tax treatise.

- Possess excellent ability to write policy notes, letters of representation & develop talking points for high-level meetings- on short notice;

- You have the ability to grasp to others' views and opinions, and distill and share the company's perspective on those issues with external stakeholders;

- You are someone who is invested in life-long learning, is flexible and highly adaptive, and has lateral thinking, keeping these abilities in mind you are able to empower the team you work with.

- You are someone with critical thinking skills combined with creativity and intellectual rigor to manage, oversee and most importantly steer various discussion with external stakeholders, government, academic, institutions.

- You are an advocate to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.

- You are someone with great interpersonal and presentation skills, both for subject matter experts and the layperson

- You possess deep sense of pride in being ethical and uphold integrity in all your engagement with stakeholders.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

1. Age up to 35 with work experience between 10-12 years.

2. Post Graduate Economics (such as JNU, Delhi School of Economics, Leading universities of Delhi, Mumbai) Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, ASPEN, Observer Foundation.

3. Financial Journalist with background in Economics, Finance.
