Need to Have:

R Specific Skills:

- Hands-on R programming Skills is a must

- Knowledge of all basic Packages in R

- Understanding of R Data elements and ability to handle them

- Use of GGplot2 is highly desired

- Use/knowledge of Packages like Car; Rdatamining; Mass; plyR; ff; Lme4; Design ; Foreign etc is highly desirable

- Use/knowledge of creating custom functions and packages is highly desirable

- Should have technical expertise on data models and database design. Understanding of XML/SQL/Python/Perl/Ruby is highly desirable

- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

- Experience using R platform is highly desirable for analyzing large datasets

- Object Oriented Programming skills are a must. Should be Adept at queries and report writing.

- Knowledge of statistics, at least to the degree necessary in order to communicate easily with statisticians

- Experience in data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate

- Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner

Overall Purpose of Job & Responsibilities :

General Purpose : Provide expertise to acquire, manage, manipulate, analyze, visualize data and report result using the R platform.

Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

- Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct/integrate various sources of data.

- Check the data for integrity; build data frames and vectors as required.

- Perform various ETL operations on Data Matrices, Vectors and Frames.

- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

- Use Basic Statistical Modeling Techniques to generate outputs.

Data Capture:

- In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases/R Data files necessary for projects and department functions.

- Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources using R, SQL or ODBC functions.

- In collaboration with others, develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality

- Perform data accuracy, imputation and correction as required for various problems.

Data Reporting:

- In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings

- Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results

- Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports

- Create and present quality dashboards

- Generate routine and ad hoc reports

Project Management:

- Work closely with counter parts in US to implement the projects and deliver timely output

- Focus on quality of work and optimize the code on a continuous basis

- Use versioning techniques like GIT for efficient Program Development

Basic Qualifications :

- Total Experience : Min of 3-5 years

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

- Strong Business understanding

- Ability to engage in Business discussions

- Bachelor's in Information Management, Healthcare Information, Computing, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields

- ISP/Telecom background is a plus

- Previous data analyst experience is highly desirable
