Job Description:

The responsibilities and attributes of a Litigation Manager include the following:

- Internal project management. Managers typically have significant project management responsibilities, including communication with clients and vendors as a matter of course, especially on logistical or administrative matters.

- Ability to manage projects in all respects, including staff management and leadership, performance metrics, quality, deadlines, tracking, and evaluations. Managers report to a senior team member such as a Director or Subject Matter Expert, who serve as the client lead.

- Ability to lead one or more large or two or more small-to-medium projects effectively and without intensive oversight.

- Ability to temporarily lead projects in the absence of seniors.

- Exercise of independent judgment - for example, Managers are expected to not simply rely on pre-existing audit lists; they should suggest additional audits based on client escalation responses or other feedback and otherwise improve workflows.

- Act as point person for the project team to spot/address/escalate non-substantive issues.

- Innovate and improve upon document review processes and techniques.

- Thorough familiarity with review platforms and effective reporting and tracking abilities.

- Strong subject matter expertise and ability to effectively engage with department seniors on legal theories.

- Administrative responsibilities, including employee appraisal process.

Competencies:

- Manages deadlines without delivery delays.

- Displays good judgment in escalating issues appropriately.

- Effectively shares e-discovery/platform knowledge with colleagues.

- Able to perform Sr. Manager's role in Sr. Manager's absence.

Skills:

- Strong project management skills,metrics, and productivity implications of project workflow.

- Strong client- and external party-facing skills: main point of contact with external representatives in connection with particular projects. Able to effectively gauge client needs even if not expressly stated.

- Highly responsive to the needs of both internal (including reporting managers, other project managers and team members) as well as external clients.

- Strong presentation and training skills; project-specific training is a core responsibility.

- Highly skilled in e-discovery platforms and relevant technology. Has ability to manage assignments and workflow (including the ability to suggest changes to workflow), and understand platform strengths and limitations.

- Excellent attention to detail.
