Role Requirements :
- Responsible and accountable for a team of Senior and Junior Research Specialists supporting research and analytics on various classes of insurance; ensuring delivery of artefacts as per service levels and quality standards agreed with stakeholders
- Must possess due diligence and strategy related report writing skills along with an ability to do quality checking as per framework. Ability to proof read and create report syntheses/ points of view is essential.
- Robust knowledge on usage of databases like Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Factiva/ Google or any other data aggregator for research on companies and individuals is essential. Strong understanding of P&C insurance industry and role of broking companies is preferred. The candidate should preferably have knowledge on usage of various regulatory, litigation and company registry related databases.
- Well read, well informed of changes in the industry and potential impact on our client businesses. Demonstrates quick and analytical thinking and has an active interest in following news/events/developments with economic relevancy and understand how it impacts the company one is in and accordingly, his or her own project or work.
- Deliver relevant insights/research/analytics on company/ industry/ country/ region (e.g. business, operational, financial and geo-political risks, macro and micro-economic analysis, market structure and opportunity research, sectoral research, company/industry/competitor analysis and forecast etc.) that help client managers derive new business. Drive thinking for business teams on thought leadership, white papers, industry publications and marketing collateral.
- High degree of engagement with senior stakeholder teams globally through planned governance forums, sets expectation on delivery and gains feedback on research delivery
- Motivate, guide and communicate with the team, ensuring they are focused, updated on changing circumstances and act accordingly. Responsible for agreeing performance parameters of team with business and complete performance appraisal of specialist researchers in accordance. Helps specialists build research pipeline for every class of business.
- Work towards driving positive client satisfaction scores across the team and creating value added products and propositions for business teams.
- Support organizational initiatives where research can play a key role
Technical Skills :
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into meaningful insights. Experience of statistical analysis will be a plus.
- Demonstrated accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail
- Advanced skills in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word) and various databases
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS-Excel will be an added advantage

Preferred candidate profile :
Prior Experience : Between 8 to 12 years of experience in industry/country/business/market research with in-depth knowledge of global marketplace, key trends, economic and geo-political developments, global supply chain, and key business and financial risks
- Experience of working with a UK/US based insurance/re-insurance/insurance broking/consulting firm of global repute will be looked at preferably
Education/ Qualification : BS/MS/CA from a well accredited university, or CFA/GARP/CA. Any certification in insurance markets will be an advantage. MBA is definitely a plus.
