Job Description And Overall Responsibility :
Responsible for development and handling tax and regulatory practice in Kolkata and Bangladesh Region. Responsible for hiring, developing and retaining the services team.
Educational & Professional Credentials :
- Professional qualification- CA with relevant experience in the tax and regulatory matters.
- 8 - 12+ years in a related field, preferably in professional services and/or industry
- Experience in Big 4 / similar consulting organization

- In-depth understanding of the Taxation

- Proven Business Development Skills
Required Technical Knowledge & Skills :
- Expertise in tax planning as well as tax compliance with a view to optimize tax benefits for clients.
- Handled compliances for clients pertaining to direct taxes (including transfer pricing) and / or indirect taxes
- Drafting of replies/appeals and appearance/representation before various statutory authorities as well asfirst level appellate authorities
- Decide the strategy for major litigations in co-ordination with the client teams.
- Evaluation of relevant Govt policies relating to taxes and ensuring ailment of benefits under those policies in time and keep updating the same to the clients.
- Laying down processes for improvement as well as strengthening tax practice in the region.
- Work closely with the clients on reviewing the business processes and evaluate the compliance requirements/opportunities
- Proactive support to the clients by advising on various business transactions as well as assist in structuring the transactions from indirect tax compliance perspective
- Represent the Company at various forums.
- Ensure maintenance of detailed and up-to-date records and ensure timely response to all the correspondences viz. show cause notices, Assessment notices, etc to the statutory authorities
- Examine any changes in Acts and Tax laws and update the clients on the changes.
- Conduct Training and knowledge sharing forums with other functions within the Company/clients.

- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

- Ability to take independent decisions and guide business in light of regulatory environment
- Take charge for implementing the regulatory changes and their impact on businessABILITY TO TRAVEL
- Flexibility to travel at short notice
