MANDATORY ASK: 12+ YEARS' OVERALL WORK EXPERIENCE WITH MIN 5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN A MANAGERIAL LEVEL IN SANCTIONS & FIN. CRIME COMPLIANCE SCREENING / STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT /GLOBAL EXPERIENCE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage, oversee and lead the Sanctions/Fin. Crime screening team within the Organization and other teams, including providing them SME support and upskilling the technical know-how of the screening alert handling, including, but not limited to, Sanctions Targets, Politically Exposed Persons, State Owned Entities, Adverse Media alerts. - Act as an escalation point for alert handling queries to assist in the resolution. - Produce, and where necessary enhance Management Information (MI) collation, within a timely manner. - Take a leading role in understanding the technical functionality of screening systems, and working with vendors to identify and implement enhancements. - Be responsible to understanding and leading on setting Iaaa screening and fuzzy logic. - Taking a leading role in global sanctions projects, including enhancements to systems, processes and procedures. - Work closely with FCC Sr. Management on any new/revised rules, regulations, policies or procedures, and apply to internal processes and the relevant areas; guide the team as a result ensuring all appropriate processes and procedures are revised to comply. - Assess and monitor existing screening and diligence related protocols, processes, and adjust existing or develop new procedures and controls to facilitate compliance with Sanctions, AML, Bribery and Corruption laws and internal policies. - Promptly escalate to Global AML/Sanctions Manager any material breaches or potential breaches of rules, regulations or internal policies or procedures. - Establish and undertake periodic review or self-assessment of key controls to assess the quality and effectiveness for screening operations. Report findings and implement curative action, if required. - Support internal/external audit of the Sanctions/Fin. Crime screening area, ensure implementation / regularization of recommendations, if any, within the agreed time. - Maintain the training calendar and provide SME training to relevant staff members across the FCC CoE. - Assist with the development of new and innovative techniques and tools which will provide greater certainty in the Sanctions/Fin. Crime screening ability to detect and report any potential sanctions/ Fin. Crime touch point - In the execution of Sanctions/FCC duties, the job holder must independently handle the tasks assigned to him/her and be able to take decisions on matters within their designated authority. - Quickly acquire sound knowledge of (re)insurance brokerage practice and the Organisation's policies, procedures, systems & controls. - Work closely with Technology, Operations and Global Sanctions/AML Project Lead to help ensure that Sanctions Screening systems are well maintained, and necessary upgrades/ enhancements take place in a timely manner, take ownership of, escalate and resolve failings. - Regularly monitor and evaluate international best practices/industry standards and regulations; provide interpretation and ensure embedding policies / procedures and controls within the function to ensure compliance. - Maintaining effective relationships with divergent group of stakeholders, facilitating proactive involvement to ensure Sanctions and Fin. Crime compliance. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: - Bachelor's degree in legal, finance, accounting, business administration, or related field - Good understanding of international sanctions (US, UK, EU, UN etc.) and as a subject matter expert - Minimum of 12+ years' experience with at least 5 years of managerial level in Sanction and Fin. Crime compliance screening leading a team of 50+ colleagues. - Experience in screening systems including the configurations of fuzzy matching, combined with and analytical thinking, educative judgment and advisory on algorithms, filter tuning, debugging and potential system enhancements. - Ability to assess the importance and sensitivity of system effectiveness and efficiency from a Sanctions perspective, and act accordingly - appropriate 'decision-making' ability is required. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with Operations, business and technology to decide on the best way forward with regards to screening and filter tuning, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations and the Group's Sanctions Policy. - Contribute to the development of systems, policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate system controls for Sanctions compliance. - Recommend solutions to complex system and list management issues which may not have any precedent to follow and develop guidelines to promote standards. - Highly skilled at problem solving, ability to scope and provide structure to complex issues and provide insightful and timely remediation. - Superior attention to detail so that documentation / reporting errors can be prevented. - Ability to identify areas of opportunity for process improvement and build out recommendation to proceed - Advanced numeracy, MIS dashboard and presentation skills. - Any global certification in sanction / fin. Crime compliance like ACAMS, ACFCS and/or from ICA, is desirable though not mandatory. - Flexible enough to maintain high quality work in a demanding environment, with ability to meet short deadlines and changing priorities.
