The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing audit assignments in accordance with strict professional standards. This role involves managing audit teams, communicating with clients, identifying risks, and providing solutions for improvement while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Planning & Execution:
- Develop detailed audit plans based on risk assessments, client needs, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and oversee audit teams during fieldwork to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management processes.
- Ensure audits are completed in accordance with professional standards and firm guidelines.
Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout audit engagements.
- Provide clients with valuable insights, reports, and actionable recommendations on process improvements and risk mitigation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure future business opportunities.
Risk Assessment:
- Identify and assess key operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
- Assist clients in understanding risk exposure and control weaknesses, and suggest practical recommendations for improvement.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations for senior management and clients.
- Review and ensure quality control of audit documentation to support audit results.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior audit staff and ensure appropriate delegation of tasks.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Ensure the team adheres to budgets and deadlines for each engagement.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated with regulatory developments, new laws, and accounting standards (such as IFRS, IND AS, etc.).
- Ensure that audits are compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Process Improvement:
- Evaluate clients' existing systems and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with clients to implement suggested changes in processes and control frameworks.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of internal auditing principles, risk management, and governance frameworks.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards (such as GAAP, IFRS, and IND AS) and audit frameworks.
- Ability to analyze complex processes and systems and identify areas of risk or inefficiency.
- Proficiency in audit tools and data analytics software.
- Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to clearly articulate audit findings.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Experience: 6-10 years of experience in auditing, with at least 3 years in internal audit and 2+ years in a managerial or leadership role.
