Essential Functions:

Role Summary: The Manager will be responsible for participating in activities and leading engagements / projects of the APQ unit under the supervision of the AVP for Audit Quality and Innovation. Several of the Quality and Innovation activities are new or will be relatively new thus the Manager needs to be agile, adaptable, and creative and have a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Key activities for the role include:

- Quality Program - developing, implementing and executing a Global Audit Quality Program addressing all key phases of the Audit Activities (i.e., Audit Universe, Audit Planning, Audit Engagement Execution, Analysis and Closure of Audit Issues and Reporting).

- Administration of the Standard Audit Program - the department has a program to develop and maintain high quality standard audit programs on multiple subjects that are used by the auditors globally.

- Innovation and Thought Leadership - providing - thought leadership- in topics of auditing, including industry standards, best practices, and driving innovation and practical application of auditing techniques, and development of guidance to the global audit practice focused on maintaining/enhancing audit quality and efficiency.

- Capabilities Program - supporting the Audit Capabilities and Training Program of the APQ unit in topics of auditing.

Specifically, the Manager will be responsible for contributing and/or leading recurrent activities and ad-hoc projects in the areas above. The Manager responsibilities are described in greater details in the next section.

Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Manager are (i) in support of the AVP for Quality and Innovation and (ii) to work collaboratively with the rest of the APQ unit in coordinated projects and activities.

The Manager is expected to operate with an elevated auditing acumen and professionalism in his/her activities and the work product is expected to be high quality to allow the AVP to be focused on strategic and tactical direction of the unit and less in operational aspects of the work. The Manager is also expected to make positive contributions to the strategic and tactical direction of the APQ activities more broadly with proactive participation in the discussions of the APQ Leadership and in direct interactions with the VP of the APQ unit, and other teammates in the unit. The main responsibilities are:

Quality Program - activity represents approximately 60% - 70% of the time.

- Performing quality reviews of all key phases of the Audit Activities involve understanding, assessing and determining whether the audit work, documentation and conclusions reached by engagements teams are in accordance with Audit Policy and Standards.

- The quality reviews encompass a wide variety of business processes and regions. The Manager needs to be able to understand and evaluate the work of others with a sound and practical approach and be in a position to - challenge and defend- the quality review conclusions facing engagement team leaders who are generally auditors grade 13 and above with significant professional experience.

- The Manager is expected to provide root cause analysis and analytics over the results of the Quality Program and recommend actions that to recognize and broaden best practices and address and remediation potential weaknesses in audit guidance or its execution by teams.

- In this role, it is ideal for the Manager to have previous experience working or performing quality reviews for external and/or internal audit firms.
