The candidate will need to work with both the brands as well as converters who can meet their packaging needs.
Responsibilities and Tasks -
- Build on Banyan's outreach to SME, emerging and D2C brands in India. Convince these brands to incorporate Banyan's high quality and safe recycled plastics in their packaging
- Identify established and upcoming brands in the FMCG (and allied) space, and identify and establish contact with key packaging decision-makers at these companies
- Understand the packaging needs of these companies and work with network of converters to place and deliver orders for PCR packaging
- Establish contacts with all the tier 2/3 packaging makers (converters) and identify their spare capacities, and molding catalogs
- Place orders on behalf of D2C companies to converters and follow up on the process until dispatch
Skills Needed
- Self-motivated individual with a zeal to build a new business from scratch
- Stellar networking and sales skills
- Understanding of product/packaging costing and basic P&L
- Ability to travel at least 15 days in a month on average to meet converters and brands
- Basic understanding of polymers used in both rigid and flexible packaging
Strong Preference for Candidates with:
- Existing network of (and relationships with) SME, emerging and D2C brands
- Experience in packaging department of FMCG or packaging consulting firm
