Currently we have an excellent opportunity with a food ingredient/ flavour manufacturing company.

Designation: Manager R&D.

Reporting to MD.

Location : Kerala.

Work timings: 8:45 am to 5:30 pm.

Broader Role / Responsibilities:

New Product Development :

- Creatively Lead, evaluate, and develop new products for various applications - Range of products to handle: Bakery Premixes, Glazes, Bread Segment Products Like, improver, shelf life extender.

- Development & Validation of new products as an addition to existing commercial baking range or retail product range.

- Internal Selling of New Products to the Team and client within time frame.

For existing /Old products:

- Arrange the major competitor samples from market and analyse their quality and compare against our product and understand the market facts and take necessary actions on improvements if required.

- Restructuring existing product for quality improvement and cost improvement or against market feedback.

- Skilful in understanding the use of various ingredients in the making the products and be clear and aware of what are the different ingredients used in this technology and the outcomes.

- Ability to have strong sensory evaluation, understand the profiles of various products in the complex bakery making process.

- Strong financial and commercial bent of mind - analysing the recipes under development - understanding the financial implications, clear about margins, working closely with finance and procurement teams in costing development work regularly.

- New ingredients and economically viable alternative ingredients testing in the development of products.

- Find new alternate supplier sources, material grade may match 100% or with alteration in % can be also planned.

- Managing documents within the organization in a systematic and organized manner and on time communication with respective departments.

- ERP, Artwork Approval, Regulatory compliance.

Supporting responsibilities:

- Keep minimum 3 suppliers for A+ and A category items.

- Research, evaluate, and recommend investments in technology, capital, equipment, systems, or other assets that will enhance the production capabilities in the future.

Qualifications, Skillsets and Experience:


- A post graduate in Food Technology (MTech or M.Sc.from a reputed institute).

- Minimum 4 +years of work experience in NPD.

- Experience in a good flavour house shall be an added advantage.
