Responsibilities

- Project involves working with IT team on flawless implementation of business strategy for N.A. credit card customers

- Develop comprehensive analytical testing plans based on a thorough understanding of the essence of the business strategy/intent and the often tight implementation timelines.

- Retrieve/manipulate data on a large scale (~2MM+ records) and conduct account-level simulation of desired customer treatment based on the business strategy, utilizing programming tools (e.g. SAS, SQL).

- Review simulation outcome and work closely with IT developers to compare results, research any discrepancy to determine root cause and fix any defects uncovered

- Conduct iterative simulation/compare testing process until 100% consistence in account treatments

- Compare results from pre-implementation testing with original analytical forecast (e.g. account volume and financial impact) and reconcile any variances

- Ensure timely and detailed documentation of testing results to satisfy auditing requirements (internal and external)

- Scope involves post -implementation validation and quality control

- Constantly work towards improving existing testing process (e.g. through automation and standardization)

- Process also involves post implementation validation and quality control documentation which is a critical audit requirement. Given the significant involvement of IT team, there is good overlap required with IT team on a daily basis(5-6 hrs)

- Participate in Periodic Meetings with Manager and Business Partners to share overall status of work, progress, issues

- Seek synergies in activities across SIS and implement value-added enhancements to the way work is executed

Candidate Specification

Skills:

- Demonstrated ability in data retrieving and manipulation of large quantity data through the use of programming languages (SAS, SQL preferred, familiarity with UNIX Mainframe, Macros, VBA a plus).

- 5+ years of work experience in functional areas such as Quality Control/Testing/Auditing, with proven ability to uncover defects through testing for complex system functionality build projects

- Passion for building the best-in-class Quality Control process through analytical testing, with attention to detail and drive for precision

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality output with compressed project timelines

- A team-player and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional team members

- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross -functional partners for diagnosis and issue resolution; effectively over conference calls.

- Ability to work with limited supervision and comfortable in dealing with ambiguous and unstructured business problems.

- Good Problem solver with strong logical thinking skills, who pays attention to detail and due diligence

- Demonstrated aptitude for continuous learning and development.

- High integrity and mental maturity to surface issues and troubleshoot

- Candidates with credit card system testing and prior experience in North America credit card industry preferred

- Experience with six-sigma process or lean systems and quality control processes preferred

- Strong technical skills (SAS, SQL, UNIX).

- Flexible working hours, willing to work odd hours (1/2 PM to midnight - 60-70% of the time)

- Good quality control and process documentation skills. Able to document the final testing results and present to partners

- Moderate Ms-excel skills. Able to make simple reports

- Prefer to have someone with mainframe knowledge.

- Only candidates, who have worked with large data sets and have used SAS/SQL proficiently for extracting and manipulating data are eligible. Candidates who have worked in predominantly excel environment, are ineligible

- Candidate should have experience in writing code. Candidates who have run only standard pre-set codes, would not be able to deliver.

- Given the person would be in India, and would have to collaborate with IT in US, the candidate should have good communication skills. Should be able to articulate the problem and explain his thought process. This is critical, given major discussions would happen over phone. And problem diagnosis and issue resolution with IT, requires reasonable level of communication.

Established competency in one or more of following:

- SAS, SQL, UNIX, RDBMS
(OR) BI tools such as COGNOS, SAS-BI, MS-BI, etc.

- Developed technical skills in the area of work and in use of reporting / data warehousing technologies
Analytical aptitude and logical reasoning ability.
