Manager - Project Finance
Job purpose :
- To lead and manage Financial Accounting and Reporting activities for the organization and ensure compliance in all the aspects pertaining to financial accounting in close coordination with Project Accounting Group.
- To lead a team of professionals, impart training and develop team capabilities
Responsibilities :
- Overall responsibility to ensure compliances in respect of accounting standards, corporate law, cost audit rules, disclosure requirements while finalizing accounts and monthly financial closure and reporting
- Preparation of Annual Business Plan (ABP), Board book for quarterly board meetings in consultation with the Company Secretary
- Handling Internal Audit, External Audit, Tax Audit, Transfer Pricing audit and Cost audits
- Develop robust system for analyzing financial metrics such as cost of production (factory and product wise), Selling, General & Administrative Expenses (S&GA), project cost built up, direct operating expense, and reporting variances on monthly basis. Identify opportunities for cost control, cost savings and implement them
- Sound knowledge of direct taxes, transfer pricing, audit requirements and preparation of tax return
- Sound knowledge of indirect taxes (ST, VAT, ED) particularly for project based business with manufacturing set up including export benefits
- Liaise with bankers to develop relationship, identify project funding requirements, raising working capital, Capex/Opex and appropriate funding options for large bids including ensure documentation requirements for banking in close coordination with Project Accounting Group
- Handling foreign exchange exposure, currency risk with hedging and Foreign Exchange accounting
- MIS related to financial reporting including monthly reports required by the JV partners
- Work closely with IT Shared Services to ensure appropriate system & processes up gradation for on time and reliable information, review internal controls and systems and to implement appropriate policies
- Handling credit rating and documentation
External interface and its purpose :
- Interfacing with external Auditors, Vendors, Bankers, Consultants, Credit Rating agencies and JV partners
Internal interface and its purpose :
- Interfacing with the internal auditors, functional heads other internal stakeholders
Critical Competencies for the job :
- Ability to lead a lead, mentor and train team of professionals
- In depth knowledge of Indian GAAP and working knowledge on Indian Accounting Standards. Exposure to US GAAP will be useful. Sound understanding of project accounting is must.
- Exposure to ERP System particularly to financial module and business intelligence. Exposure to BaaN ERP system is an added advantage.
- Excellent ability to communicate and work with functional heads and divisional in-charge to implement system and processes
