Role: Manager - Procurement

Function: Procurement

Location: Nasik

Individual contributor: This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials required for luggage manufacturing.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the luggage or plastic industry.

- Proven experience in supplier management and negotiation.

- Experience in sourcing sustainable materials and developing eco-friendly supplier networks would be an added advantage.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and manage multiple priorities.

- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement of Raw Materials:

- Source and procure high-quality raw materials and other related components/ accessories for existing line as well as for NPDs, new launches.

- Negotiate favourable terms and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency.

Technical Expertise:

- Apply technical knowledge of industrial engineering & knowhow to evaluate and define the optimum production flow.

- Conduct thorough assessments of durability, accessory functionality, and metal component integrity.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in materials technology.

Supplier Management:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.

- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to supplier deliveries.

Inventory Management:

- Collaborate with the planning/ production ~ manufacturing teams to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials.

- Implement effective RM inventory control measures to prevent overstocking or stockouts.

Cost Management:

- Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.

- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives.

New Product Development:

- Work closely with the design, production, and quality assurance teams to understand material requirements and specifications.

- Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams to ensure material compatibility and performance.
