Job description - Important Points:


- This would be an IC role for now - both PL and Manager

- This would be a client facing role client engagement experience is must

- Industry (3-5 years) + rest Consulting experience would do; consulting is mandatory

- Location not a constraint for now we can take Bangalore/Gurgaon/Remote into consideration initially

- Approx.. 20% of the role would require onshore travel to meet clients/global stakeholders

Brief of role:


- The Procurement Center of Expertise (COE) sits within the Operations Excellence COE and supports procurement cases globally.


- Procurement COE supports procurement cost reduction programs for clients enabling them to improve their competitive positioning. Our focus is on supporting case teams in rapid spend diagnostics, formulating category sourcing strategies and implementation support. Scope of work:

- This position is based in the Gurgaon office and is an integral part of the Procurement Centre of Expertise, housed under the Operations Excellence COE.

- The individual will be responsible for owning Procurement transformation cases, leading client discussions and driving case delivery involving spend visibility through comprehensive spend cube build, spend analytics to identify insights related to procurement cost optimization initiatives, develop category sourcing strategies for direct as well as indirect category spend execute the sourcing strategies to realize value for clients.

- Individual will be expected to be an expert on procurement COE offerings and be a trusted advisor to case teams. Over time, the individual will be expected to begin to develop, grow business and contribute to IP creation related to Procurement practice offerings. Individual will work under the guidance of the COE

- Playing key role in driving the teams overall answer, final materials, client communication, work planning, and team management.

- The position will require the individual to deliver cases in an expert individual contributor capacity as well as in a COE team setup (depending on the case scope).

- Provide thought leadership and significant direction to resolve complex procurement case issues and effectively manage client discussions, case teams and CoE team.

Required Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering / master's degree with a focus on operations

- 6-11 years of relevant industry/consulting experience in the fields of procurement, strategic sourcing Deep understanding of procurement within relevant industry (advanced manufacturing, automotive, consumer products, consumer electronics etc) and holds good command on relevant direct spend as well as indirect spend categories

- Has worked in areas primarily like framing category sourcing strategies, strategic sourcing involving contracting/ tendering/ e-auctions, supplier management, negotiations, should cost modelling, design to cost etc

- Candidate must have relevant procurement consulting experience in a client facing role from a leading consulting firm along with prior relevant industry experience in procurement domain is preferred

- Candidates should possess excellent analytical skills. Ability to understand the relevant analysis required to prove a hypothesis and ability to gather information around it and make informed/logical assumptions where required

- Basic understanding of research techniques, information sources and statistical analysis/analytic techniques relevant to procurement

- Candidate should possess work planning, communication and team skills. Prior experience with managing teams, coaching and mentoring is preferred

- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required. Experience in using analytics or data visualization tools like Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI is preferred

- Knowledge/experience on e-procurement tools (e.g. spend analysis tools, RFQ tools, bottom up costing, etc.) is an advantage

- Strong written and verbal communications skills
