Job Summary:

The Manager will oversee and manage a team of analysts, as well as take on a hands-on execution role when required. The team will work closely with and support the investment team of our client, a prominent Middle East based private equity and venture capital firm. The Manager will be the primary liaison with the client. This role requires expertise in a wide range of research and analysis related to private equity and venture capital investments and portfolio management, to be able to mentor and guide the analysts as well as to interact with key internal and external stakeholders.

Overall, the Manager and the team will:

- Be responsible for supporting the client's investment team in the analysis, execution, and management of private equity and venture capital investments. This would involve conducting due diligence, financial modelling, market research, and working closely with portfolio companies to drive value creation.

- Play a critical role in helping the client identify and execute investment opportunities while ensuring the success of current investments.

Key Responsibilities of the Manager and the Team:

1. Investment Analysis and Due Diligence:

A. Conduct thorough financial analysis, including detailed financial modelling, valuation, and scenario analysis.

B. Perform due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including market research, industry analysis, and competitive landscape assessments.

C. Assist in the preparation of investment memos and presentations for the investment committee.

2. Portfolio Management:

A. Monitor the performance of portfolio companies, including tracking financial and operational metrics.

B. Work with portfolio company management teams to develop and implement value creation strategies.

C. Assist in preparing reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders on the status of portfolio companies.

D. Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in target industries.

3. Reporting and Documentation:

A. Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, including financial analysis and strategic insights.

B. Maintain detailed records and documentation of all investment activities, including due diligence materials, and financial models.

4. Exit Planning and Execution:

A. Assist in the development and execution of exit strategies for portfolio companies, including mergers, acquisitions, and public offerings.

B. Work with external advisors, legal teams, and investment banks to facilitate successful exits and maximize returns for the firm.

C. Analyse potential exit scenarios and provide recommendations on timing and approach.

5. Risk Management:

A. Monitor and assess risks associated with portfolio companies, including market, financial, and operational risks.

B. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with portfolio company management teams.

C. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance standards across the portfolio.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree, CFA or CA designation is highly preferred.

- Experience:

A. 5-7 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a related field.

B. Must have experience in team management (guiding juniors, reviewing work, quality control of output), project management (scoping, ensuring adherence to timelines) and internal/ external stakeholder management.

- Skills:

A. Strong financial modelling and valuation skills.

B. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

C. High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.

D. Strong communication and presentation skills.

E. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, managing a team of analysts both from a day-to-day project execution perspective and as a people manager.

F. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under tight deadlines.
