Job Title - Portfolio Manager
Department - Investment Banking
Reporting to - Head - Proprietary Investments
Main Role (Overall accountability):
- The Portfolio Manager will be part of Proprietary Management Group of Investment Banking that is responsible for managing the proprietary investments portfolio of the Bank.
- The Portfolio Manager will provide portfolio management services including the identification, evaluation, selection, execution and monitoring of investments and formulation of investment strategies in accordance with the investment strategy document and the directions of the Investment Committee.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Generate investment ideas for the proprietary investment portfolio to help achieve portfolio objectives as defined in the investment strategy document
- Prepare and present investment proposals, conduct required level of due diligence including research on markets and industries, financial analysis and modeling for businesses and securities
- Monitor portfolio positions, conduct performance analysis and risk reviews
- Provide regular inputs for portfolio rebalancing based on portfolio monitoring results, market analysis and available investment products
- Oversee the execution of investment decisions and coordinate with support and operations departments
- Establish and maintain relations with market participants and investee companies
- Draft and present reports and analysis internally and to the Investment Committee and its authorized subcommittees to help making portfolio decisions, appraising portfolio performance
Personnel Specifications/ Position Requirements:
Experience & Education:
- MBA with a CFA and minimum 5 years relevant experience in professional portfolio management and investment experience in research or asset management.
- Fair knowledge and understanding of local and regional stock markets.
- Working relations with business community and regional brokers.
- Finance or business degree from a reputable college with strong academic credentials.
Specialized knowledge/skills & personal attributes:
- Knowledge of investment products, and investing strategies
- Strong financial analysis skills including financial modeling
- In depth understanding of banking, telecom or petrochemical industries will be valued
- Broad range of computer skills and advanced knowledge of Bloomberg platform.
- Quantitatively adept; able to understand and effectively communicate quantitative information, verbally and in writing
- Report writing skills, presentation and communication skills
