Portfolio Analyst - (PMO)Manager

The Portfolio Analyst role acts in support of the Portfolio Manager to achieve efficient, effective and active management of the Change Delivery’s orderbook or a sub - set of Change Delivery’s portfolio.

This role supports well - reasoned decisions in matters of strategic, organizational, operational, and technological investment and alignment through involvement in some of the following

- monitoring and tracking progress across the portfolio of programmes and projects including programmes and projects to achieve the savings outlined in the overall departmental objectives

- providing adequate analysis on overall balance and trending of the portfolio

- providing high value analysis on the resources mobilized to deliver the portfolio

- reviewing traffic lights through scrutiny and challenge for enhanced predictability of delivery in terms of time, cost and requirements –leading to better resource management and relationships with business

- ensuring project/programme approaches and delivery are in line with Group standards

- bringing visibility and escalation to progress, issues/problems and failure

- delivering precise and timely information management and reporting

- identifying disseminating best practices

Principal Accountabilities:

- Develop MI to measure the progress of Change Delivery in meeting its objectives

- Maintenance and update of project tracking registers to record programme benefits

- Ensure that the project/programme deliverables remain on track

- Production of MI / data pack to cover programme tracking.

- Monitoring progress against plan and reporting any variances

- Effective tracking of programme deliverables, and reporting slippage / variances through the reporting mechanism

Qualifications

- Typically qualifications would include an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Science, Business Administration or a related field.

Experience:

- 4 - 7 Years

- The Portfolio Analyst must have few years of experience and command skills related to either project management, process reengineering, business consulting or financial analysis

- Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise

- Basic knowledge of business case and PMO

- Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders

- Working across cultures

Professional standards (skills and behaviours)

- Very strong analytical skills

- Decision making and problem solving skills.

- General knowledge of finance and accounting

- Good planning, organisation and time management skills together with an ability to approach tasks in a logical and methodical manner.

- Knowledge or exposure to the project management project lifecycle or consulting techniques, reengineering methodologies

- Basic knowledge of RBPM methods/processes and tools (e.g Clarity)

- Proven ability to prioritise competing demands

- Excellent English written & verbal communication skills, other languages an advantage

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access)
