Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data collection, calculation, and distribution of employee salaries.
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, bonuses, overtime, and other compensation elements.
- Process all statutory and voluntary deductions, such as taxes, insurance, and retirement contributions.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations related to payroll and taxation.
- Prepare and submit accurate payroll reports and tax filings to government authorities.
- Address compliance issues and discrepancies as they arise.
Data Management:
- Maintain and update employee records, including changes in salary, deductions, and personal information.
- Ensure data integrity and security of payroll information.
Benefit Administration:
- Administer and manage employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- Collaborate with benefits providers to ensure seamless benefit delivery.
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees.
- Investigate and correct any errors in payroll processing.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and optimize payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement automation and technology solutions to enhance payroll operations.
Team Management:
- Supervise and lead a team of payroll professionals, ensuring their training and development.
- Assign tasks and manage workloads effectively.
Audit and Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular audits of payroll records to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in payroll management, with at least 7+ in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with cross-functional departments.
- Knowledge of best practices in payroll administration and continuous process improvement.
