Manager - Paybill/Payroll


PURPOSE OF POSITION:


- Managing and leading a team of finance professionals, reporting to the Tower Lead Paybill/Payroll.The management role requires coordinating and planning the activities of finance teams operating in a shared services environment, initially transitioning activity from, and then providing ongoing support and process expertise to the Regional Finance Business Partners and Controllers.


- The role will oversee all areas of payroll control, travel & expenses of temp workers, time capture, PO matching, costing and billing and ensure excellent customer service levels for consultants in chat services/customer services for organization


KEY RESULTS AREAS:


The role holder will have accountability and some responsibility for their teams initial adoption of work and then business as usual performance in the following areas:

Financial management:


- Manage transactional teams effectively to drive flexibility, manage demand and identify opportunities to automate/streamline processes.


- Manage and resolve escalated issues temp worker/consultant and management queries.


- Produce statistics as required.


- Resolve operational queries and issues to optimize performance.


- Co-ordinate the production of month end and ad hoc reporting.


- Review dashboards/KPIs/SLA performance and escalate issues where required.


- Responsible for the internal control and effective routine process compliance/transition of billing against agreed SLAs.


Leadership & culture:


- Foster a culture of high-quality performance and continuous improvement in the process, drive employee engagement and delivery productivity commitments.


- Plan, coordinate and review the work plan for assigned employees and respond to grievances or issues.


- Ability to drive discipline across financial processes and provide professional accounting leadership.


- Responsible for driving positive interactions with and feedback from internal and external business stakeholders.


- Ensure process documentation and preparation/updating of standard operating Procedures (SOPs) whenever required

Technical competencies:


- Excellent people manager with ability to Guide, Coach and Mentor future managers.


- Extensive knowledge of Payroll and 3rd Party payroll processes and travel and expense processing in a large finance function.


- Excellent knowledge of MS office.


- Attention to detail.


- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills.


- Analytical skills ability to assemble, compile and analyse Financial/non-financial data.


- Advanced understanding and experience of basic office applications (including MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).


- Ready to drive changes, initiate projects & perform multiple tasks.


Specific job experience:


- Proven people management skills including building and developing high performing teams.


- Experience of having managed a transition of activities to a shared service as a functional lead.


- Track record of using data and metrics to make insight-driven business decisions.


- Graduate with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience.


Qualifications:


- MBA Finance


- Preferred - (CIMA etc).


Situational requirements:


- Able to work across multiple time zones; shift work will be required.


- Fluency in written and oral English; Spanish/Portuguese desirable.
