Network Operations Manager for Bangalore (12-16 yrs)
- Provide customer interaction and act as a project resource for regional and global infrastructure initiatives.
- Responsible for Data, Voice and Security network infrastructure team operations, driving industry best practice for operation team cross platform engagement and seamless interaction.
- Ensure the operational readiness of new and upgraded network technologies, services, and platforms, prior to release into production.
- Part of a team driving product and service evaluations for technical relevance in our current and planned infrastructures.
- Manage escalations relating to the global network environment.
- Report and/or escalate issues to leadership.
- Good understanding of network equipment including Cisco routers, and switches, network protocols, technologies, services, and monitoring tools
- Ready to handle various parallel functions related to Service Delivery where required. Budgetary planning and control for Operations team.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement :
- Proven strong leadership skills Proven interaction skills at a senior leadership level
- Proven operational team management experience in an ISP/Carrier provider environment
- Proven ability to plan, organize and manage complex work effort ITIL framework knowledge ISO 20k framework knowledge
Nice to Have (Technical understanding of some of these components) :
- IP routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IP Multicast, MPLS - IPv4 knowledge required, IPv6 knowledge preferred TCP/IP fundamentals (packet level analysis)
- Network protocols including TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, SIP, RTP
- Good understanding of Network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, load-balancing, monitoring Network concepts - QoS (preferred on Cisco ASR9k routers)
- Physical layer including Ethernet, optical OCx, SONET, T1/T3, Fiber Channel Knowledge/experience with Cisco Voice over IP systems and components including gateways, gatekeepers, Unity voice mail, routers, switches, Cisco's Unified Border Element (CUBE) and session border controllers.
- Knowledge and experience operating converged (voice/video/data) networks, including knowledge of: CoS, QoS, WRED and related quality of service parameters.
- Firewall systems (Juniper, Checkpoint, Cisco, NetScreen), VPN Technologies (IPsec, SSL, Nortel, Cisco) TCP/IP networking Authentication, authorization, encryption mechanisms (LDAP, RADIUS, TACACS+, PKI, SSL, SSH) Intrusion detection systems (network based, host based, signature)
- Knowledge and experience operating voice/video/multicast services across MPLS backbones. Ability to work with and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of multiplexing technologies
Qualifications : MBA or equivalent Computer Science
Work Experience : 7-10 years relevant experience in a similar capacity with a large service driven organization Must have team handling experience of at least 50 people and should be a good team player
