Materials Manager - power industry, Dahanu

JOB PURPOSE :

- This role is responsible for Logistics, Material management/ operations

- Ensuring availability of materials in co-ordination with procurement function, timely issue of material to all department for carrying out plant maintenance work, Scrap Management for clean work environment.

- Responsible for Business Excellence activities and to ensure Safe operations as a Departmental Safety Officer.

- Support the store in charge in Overall store administration / operations.

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Managing logistics support for dispatch and receipt of new consignment by tracking and follow-up with vendor & transporter for smooth receipt of goods with compliance.

2. Initiate and ensure completion of Business excellence activities

3. Ensure efficient material handling processes (receipt, storage, preservation, and issue of material) and optimize use of resources by managing work force and material handling equipment, to ensure stock of material kept healthy, safe, and easily retrievable, identifiable in SAP.

4. Implement new safety standards, any other new standards, and SOP's / new initiatives, received from Group.

5. Promote safety culture at workplaces.

6. Initiation and implementation of new improvement plans

7. Ensure availability of material / service under control, for plant maintenance throughout the year by raising purchase request, follow up with CPG till placement of final PO and ensure the completion of material and service as per requirement.

8. Effective implementation & compliance of all ISO standards and 5S (AWMS) in line with requirements.

9. Proper utilization of budget through monitoring, controlling & by periodic review of expenditure.
