Role Summary:
- The Legal Associate - Regulatory and Intellectual Property is responsible for providing legal expertise and support in various domains, including Drugs & Cosmetic laws, Legal Metrology laws, Civil & criminal laws, Consumer laws, food laws, and Labour laws.
- The role involves drafting and vetting contract manufacturing agreements, vendor service agreements, commercial agreements, and agency distributorship agreements.
- Additionally, the associate is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance under FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) and Legal Metrology, as well as handling intellectual property rights (IPR) matters such as trademarks, copyrights, design protection, and prosecution.
- The associate may also be involved in conducting raids on counterfeiters and assisting in the resolution of legal disputes through the drafting of legal contracts, agreements, notices, replies, oppositions, evidence, written statements, counter statements, and submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated with Drugs & Cosmetic laws, Legal Metrology laws, Civil & criminal laws, Consumer laws, food laws, and Labor laws.
- Draft and vet contract manufacturing agreements, vendor service agreements, commercial agreements, and agency distributorship agreements.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI and Legal Metrology regulations.
- Handle intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, examination, opposition, and appearance before Trademark Authorities.
- Conduct raids on counterfeiters in multiple cities to combat the production and sale of spurious products.
- Prepare legal documents, including contracts, agreements, notices, replies, oppositions, evidence, written statements, counter statements, and submissions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in the legal field.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Drugs & Cosmetic laws, Legal Metrology laws, Civil & criminal laws, Consumer laws, food laws, and Labor laws.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing various types of agreements.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements under FSSAI and Legal Metrology.
- Expertise in intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and design protection.
- Experience in conducting raids on counterfeiters is preferred.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
