Principal Accountabilities :
- The incumbent will be responsible for providing support in review and management of commercial and procurement contracts i.e. the process of systematically and efficiently managing contract creation, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk. This job description may not represent all the duties of the position, may be asked to perform other related duties, as needed.
The incumbent will :
- Review different commercial and procurement contracts and other related legal documents and ensure compliance of Company's internal risk parameters and achievement of business objectives.
- Raise red flags/ make recommendations to other members of the Legal Department.
- Collaborate with senior Regional Attorneys and Contract Managers situated globally.
- If situation demands, engage counterparts in customer's Legal Department to resolve impasse.
- Play an active role in management of the contract life cycle from identification of a need, through negotiation, agreement, monitoring, and close-out.
- Advise on foreign and domestic commercial transations involving manufacturing (from vendor's perspective), materials, intellectual property, inventory, services and financing issues.
- Time zone management. Candidates willing to work in US shift ( 7 pm to 4 am) will be preferred, but this is not a mandatory requirement.
- Along with the individual contributor role we are looking for candidates who have leadership abilities and can be good coach/mentor to junior attorneys
- Can lead and drive the function to meet the expectations of the Legal Department
Candidate Profile :
- Hands on 5-7 years experience in reviewing commercial and procurement contracts
- Candidates with knowledge management background (training of contract attoneys) in large LPOs or captives will be given preference
- Effective in both individual contributor role as well as managing a team of lawyers
- Good knowledge in laws related to working of contracts.
- Good experience in document review & attention to detail.
- Problem solving skills - should be a problem solver / business partner rather than simply executing tasks.
- Excellent Communication skills in oral/written English.
- Very strong knowledge in MS Office.
- Good team player. Willing and capable of working in big larger team structure.
- Provide suggestions to the team when necessary with regards to legal requirements.
- Ability to engage and thrive in a cross cultural environment.
- Trained in Law Firm or experience in large Legal department. Candidates with experience of working in large multi national manufacturing concerns (experience in electronics/electrical or semiconductor company )will be preferred.
