Manager - Lean & Manufacturing Engineering


The position reports to the Division Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

- Four-year degree in Engineering or equivalent required.

- Master's in business administration (MBA) in Operations / Lean manufacturing will be an added advantage

- A good understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S's, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, APQP, Six Sigma and Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving, ISO9001, or similar.

Responsibilities:

LEAN:

- Guides all PLS initiatives within the Division. Works with Division staff and Plant level management on Lean implementation using Lean Systems as the principal tool.

- Ensures the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented Division-wide.

- To ensure adherence to PLS standards at the Division for the Site, Value Stream, and Team Improvement boards enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey.

- Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals.

- Leads and executes kaizen aligned with the site, division, and group strategy deployment. Coaches division leaders on how and where Kaizen can improve the business.

- The Division Lean Manager will be a team facilitator or a team leader at Group Lean Director and Group President kaizens and the Sensei for General Manager kaizens.

- Ensures that the organizational structure has been reviewed and that resources are aligned for the Lean transformation.

- Being multi-site divisions helps develop Plant teams with an emphasis on championing the Division's goals, objectives, and implementation plans relative to the Lean Journey Assessment, Division Strategy Deployment, and Future State Site Plans.

- Ensures ongoing education of all employees at the Division in PLS. Promotes a Continuous Learning environment.

Manufacturing Engg:


- Leads the NPD function from manufacturing to develop Processes and Meet APQP requirements as per customer Specifications.

- Implement NPD to achieve company target and customer satisfaction.

- Ensuring that new products and processes are properly developed for production readiness.

- Computing required amounts of labor and materials, manufacturing costs and benefits costs.

- Solving line and customer quality problems by collaborating with vendors and the internal quality team.

- Develop and improve processes to reduce rejection and scrap to increase profitability

- Develop a cohesive culture between associates, supervisors, and other team members.
