Manager - Internal Communications
Job Description :
- Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with senior managers
- Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
- Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, monthly magazine or regular email bulletin. You may also be required to work on the layout of content
- Keep clients abreast of progress and answer their questions
- Storyboard or translate ideas to the creative team of art directors and designers
- Use social media to communicate with staff internally
- Manage an internal communications officer or whole team
- Deliver presentations at organisational events, such as your company's AGM
- Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form
- Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organisation
- Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages
- Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly
- Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organisational perception and reputation
- Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organisation, either face to face or through regular written communication
Qualification And Experience :
i. MBA in Communication or Journalism or Marketing is preferred with 5+ years in Internal Communications in a MNC environment & managed a variety of corporate communications channels, including corporate intranets, mobile, and internal social media channels.
ii. Experience of working closely with HR and Senior colleagues and strong experience of building networks and relationships to deliver results
iii. Ability to review online analytics and collecting user research
iv. Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
v. Good interpersonal skills with ability to influence and handle sensitive situations, maintaining confidentiality, where necessary
vi. IT skills including use of social media (including Yammer), content management, word processing, spreadsheets, email, image editing
vii. Good judgement and ability to interpret information
viii. Ability to prioritise and manage own workload effectively but also to be flexible and adapt/respond to emerging issues, short deadlines and other demands or challenges
ix. Good understanding of health-related issues and policy and the challenges and opportunities facing the health and other public sectors would be an advantage
