Internal Audit & Compliance Manager

- You will ensure that the company complies with laws & regulations that apply to the business, protect assets by completing audits, and recommend improvements in internal control structure.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed

- Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues

- Assess product, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies

- Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation

- Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities

- Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes

- Consult with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues

- Collaborate with human resources departments to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance standard violations

- Advise internal management or business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs

- Review communications such as securities sales advertising to ensure there are no violations of standards or regulations

- Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews

- Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress

- Monitor compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness

- Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required

- Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes

- Design or implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards

- Verify that all firm and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated

Qualification And Experience:

i. CA or MBA (Finance) with 3-4 years of experience in internal audit/compliance preferably from BIG 4.

ii. Excellent analytical skills

iii. Innovative and Strategic thinking

iv. Well developed presentation and communication skills

v. Sound interpersonal and negotiation

vi. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.

vii. Ability to effectively present information.

viii. Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles.

ix. Ability to collect, analyze and summarize accounting data.

x. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions

xi. Ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

xii. Basic understanding of how behaviours affect people and dynamics of an organization and a general understanding of effective ethics and compliance programs.

xiii. Intermediate knowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite Products). Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail.

xiv. Ability to work well under pressure with proactive approach to routine and non-routine occurrences.

xv. Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations.

xvi. Requires basic analytical and quantitative skills. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work independently.

xvii. Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. May develop, recommend, and implement improvements in department efficiencies, process, procedure, and/or policy.

xviii. Resolves escalated questions and problems within the department.

xix. Responsible for setting own project deadlines.

xx. Able to handle multiple projects, deadlines and assignment successfully.

xxi. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor
